I think this is a bigger choke than Winged Foot...

TribalElder 06-16-2013 05:30 PM

Phil you loser why do I cheer for you

:banghead:

I know he's contended more than 6 times, just stating that knowing Phils game, I really woudn't say he's a US Open type player.

It's close, but I don't think so.

TribalElder 06-16-2013 05:31 PM

Phil has to hope for a scorecard penalty now lol

What's the next wave of golfers from England look like? Seems like forever they've had the same 4 or 5 really good guys and then complete dog shit.

He has the best hands in the history of golf. Unfortunately for him, he has a technically poor swing, especially for Tour standards, and his putting stroke is inferior. He takes the putter too far to the outside and cuts across it on too steep of a descent.

Good for Rose. Another one of those young talents like Scott on tour that had never been able to win the big one. Now he has.

GloryDayz 06-16-2013 05:35 PM

Much like Jeff Gordon in racing, it's nice to see people put kids first.

O.city 06-16-2013 05:37 PM

2 doubles, bogeys on 2 holes with wedges in his hand, and 36 putts.

Yeah, sorry Phil, it was there for the taking.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-16-2013 05:38 PM

I don't know if it's bigger or worse. It's just another. He's won four majors and completely crapped away two times as many.

When it comes to major championship golf, he's a loser. He's Karl Malone. It wouldn't matter if he had a ten shot lead or a one shot lead, he was bound and determined to find a way to lose, because in big tournaments, and especially the US Open, that's what he does. He's mentally weak.

Yep...just more things about him that are unorthodox.

Can't be.

I said much the same years ago, and was told he'd won a major, so he isn't a choker.

You have to give Rose credit, though. He didn't luck into it like Geoff Ogilvy or Webb Simpson. He didn't hit a chip shot that was going to go 40 feet by and have it catch the low edge and go in (which defies all known laws of physics). He knew he had to make par on 17 and 18 and he did it.

O.city 06-16-2013 05:41 PM

Phils a choker that happened to not choke a few times. Same with Peyton.

He's a lovable loser.
