"Pointless" is debatable IMO, because I think you really have to have an official's ego and mentality to say we got the 1st down (if we're talking the same failed BB challenge). But I think it's clear that the officials have decided that calls will only be overturned if the evidence would make them look guilty in if they don't change the call. But that's league-wide, and you have to accept that the officials are a bunch of petulant and egotistical children who don't like that they're ever being questioned.

I made the mistake of turning on one of the national sports shows this morning where I was told that the Pats were beat because of the refs. Yeah, it wasn't the Chiefs that beat them, it was the refs. And all of these talking heads were upset.

Ironic considering how the Pats won the final playoff game last year.
