Surprising to me, since those are east coast teams starting at 9:45pm out there

But it's a bigger draw so.

It was nice of them to make Texas Tech/Purdue the later game in the other bracket.

If it wasn't for Syracuse, I would have spent all week convincing myself to spend the weekend in Omaha.

This is why we are a 1 seed. I think this is accurate, but please correct me if I am wrong.

We have played 6 of the Sweet 16 teams (assuming WVU keeps their lead against Marshall)

We are 10-1 against the Sweet 16 this year.

East Region
West Virginia - 3-0
Texas Tech - 1-1

South Region
Kansas State - 3-0
Kentucky - 1-0

West Region
Texas A&M - 1-0

Midwest Region
Syracuse - 1-0

I am just guessing, but that is probably the best record of all the other Sweet 16 teams against one another.

Nice.

Nice to see four Big 12 teams remaining, and only one that didn't play to its seed.

I’ve been giving KC Connection as much grief as anyone, but come on man, banning him from this thread? Really?

Next year when KU is going for its 15th straight Big 12 regular season conference championship, and people try to tell me we only won number 14 because the Big 12 was weak, I will refer them to this stat:

40% of the Big 12 Conference made the Sweet 16. Nearly half of the Big 12 made the 2018 Sweet 16. That's a strong league.

In comparison, only 27% of the ACC made the Sweet 16, only 14% of the Big 10 Conference made the Sweet 16, only 14% of the SEC made the Sweet 16, only 10% of the Big East made the Sweet 16, only 10% of the Missouri Valley Conference made the Sweet 16, only 10% of the West Coast Conference made the Sweet 16, and only 9% of the Mountain West Conference made the Sweet 16.

Your point is better made leaving entire conferences made up of mid-majors out of it. Nobody that's a fan of a MVC school, for instance, would ever brag about having a stronger conference than the Big 12. Focus on the SEC, the ACC, Big 10, etc. Conference bragging rights is really a Power 5 thing

Prison Bitch 03-19-2018 12:05 AM

538 gives us an 11% of winning it all and 38% of making it to the FF.

There's an 84% chance our league will get one to San antionio

Us 38
WVU 19
GAY state 19
Techsters 8

teedubya 03-19-2018 12:13 AM

Have we Rock Choked, yet? Oh, we haven't... hmmm.

It is an "8" year. :-)

Pants 03-19-2018 12:49 AM

Maybe don't ban, KCC?

He's been doing the Kenpom thing and KU has been winning.

Even though he's all doom and gloom, I still like to see those summaries without having to Kenpom and do the research myself.

Lzen 03-19-2018 06:21 AM

I agree with the folks about KCC. He shouldn't be banned, IMO. But a name change might be in order. Perhaps something like Eyore?
