I would have voted for Richie James. How can a kid catch nearly 60 passes from Danny Jones, but never get open for Mahomes? Toney is and always has been an injured head-case. It was foolish for Reid to rely on him whatsoever. Sadly, we all saw the writing on the wall with Moore after season one really didn’t click at all. MVS redeemed himself in the postseason. For the most part it was an expected shit show. Good thing Mahomes and the D were god-like when needed.

I'd say more than 50% of the people on this board thought Toney was a solid #1. He wasn't even a 4. Case closed

MVS definitely needs to be on there. Dude was getting huge money, he's a veteran, and still sucked absolute donkey dick all season.

Most of the board was unhappy when the reports came out that the best coaching staff in the league was looking at him as the teams #1 WR. Nobody ever thought Toney was “a solid #1” outside of a handful of idiots. |
Toney was a lottery ticket acquired mid season via trade from a (currently) shit franchise. Skyy was a deliberate draft pick in his second season.
Skyy's the bigger disappointment. |

Even if you aren't getting QB1, CB1, LT, ER or X/Z WR in the 3rd, you are getting a SWR, IOL, LB, S, NB, RB and DT with relative regularity. So, it's not a throwaway pick. Toney cost us a potential solid starter at some position and a special teamer. Moore cost us a solid starter at some position too. I don't see the compensation as overly different and I see both of them as sucking shit. At least Moore sucked slightly less shit than Toney. |
Skyy was the massive disappointment the day we drafted him. I wanted George Pickens. We took a flier on Toney and he just doesn't love the game. He'll be gone after this season.

Can move well enough and is even physical enough for some good downfield blocking. Hes not a world beater but there have been less talented athletes be productive in the league. His is very much between his ears. |

I went with Toney though because he was SUPPOSED to be WR 1 material. Instead, he was the defense's secret weapon with his shitty hands. Good riddance. Meanwhile, Skyy simply continues being the same jagoff he was when he came on board. He had one competent game vs Jacksonville and then POOF....gone. |

Toney was the most disappointing to me. If we could just teach the guy to catch instead of playing 'Hot Potato'...
|
I voted Moore because it seemed he was doing everything right to become a reliable WR, he just didn't have the talent and I have to assume he got massive yips during games.

Don't really want to drag Skyy anymore than I already have, so I'll keep this short. I think a lot of his issues are between his ears, as you say. Back last offseason I said he wastes a lot of steps, which is basically in the same area. And when you don't have elite burst, like Tyreek for example, you can't waste steps vs. NFL DBs. They recover way too fast. If he's ever going to be a decent WR, he's going to have to go to the Steve Largent/Edelman/Welker school of route-running for lesser athletes and parse down his route-running to the bone. Otherwise, he's just going to be a good run-blocking WR. |
I thought Toney could be a capable punt returner/gadget receiver. Never believed he would be a WR1 or 2 or could stay healthy long enough to matter in the regular passing game. Did not have high expectation for Ross or Watson.
I did expect Moore to take a couple steps forward. He did not. For a 2nd round pick, he has been disappointing. He just did not seem to be on the same page as Mahomes….then injured. |
