Can't wait for the gif of the one handed TD. Hell, I'll even put it in the OP.

Of course if you have Pat throwing to you so you have the opportunity to pad your stats and make your bonuses in your contract. Why would any WR want to leave Pat ?? Unless of course other offers are just insane.

If he keeps producing, a team out there is going to pay him more than we can afford. And Robinson would deserve it.

I wouldn't exactly be excited to see Robinson go. I just see the writing on the wall, that's all.

People are going to have to realize that Pat is going to develop MANY WRs in his 15+ years with KC. Players we really really like are going to come and go often. That's the NFL.

Robinson is legit. I always saw talent in him.

Albert Wilson I wasnt so sure.

BossChief 09-22-2019 08:40 PM

If he keeps producing, we may be able to extract some serious value for him at the trade deadline. Possibly a second or third rounder. Maybe package him with a high pick to get a starting corner that can improve the defense.

I’d love Veach forever if he trades a first+Robinson for Ramsey or Howard.

Multiple reasons:

1) we won’t have the $ to re-sign him after this year.
2) his value right now is high
3) we are trying to make a trade for an all pro CB and want to hold on to draft picks, if possible.

Look. I don’t want to see DeMarcus Robinson go, but getting Hill back and Mahomes operating on the highest level any QB in history ever has means we can trade him and not miss a beat on offense while utilizing his value to bolster the defense while keeping draft picks that can help the team in the future.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-22-2019 11:28 PM

Who says we won’t have the money to re sign D Rob? How much is he even asking for?

BossChief 09-22-2019 11:39 PM

Albert Wilson got 8m per after getting 554 yards and 3tds in his last year here. Those were both career highs for him.

Robinson already has 215 yards and 3 TDs in only 3 games. On
Pace for 1151 yards and 16tds.

Even if he gets 800-1000 yards and 10tds, he will command 10-14m per year. If he keeps his current pace, he will be worth even more.

Landry, Diggs, Hilton, Allen, Lockett....is put him in that group if he stays healthy and keeps getting looks after Hill returns.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 09-23-2019 12:03 AM

What if D Rob takes a discount to stay here and play with Mahomes

What do you consider a discount for him at this point? Extrapolate his stats to reasonable numbers for this season and give a proper expectation for a WR of his age and "production" should expect on the market as a free agent WR? He's likely going to have to just be replaced in next years draft.

Funny how D-Rob and Mecole have made us forget all about Conley.

Hammock Parties 09-23-2019 06:56 AM

I think it's more likely at this point the Chiefs let Watkins go and pay D-Rob half his salary for 75% of the production and -100% injury risk.

Conley made me forget about Conley, sometimes during actual games. I was excited when we drafted him because his combine numbers were insane, and he looked to be the big, fast receiver we needed, and someone who was supposed to be able to use his ridiculous vertical leap to go up and get those 50/50 balls.

Instead, he was a poor route runner who could not get separation, and he never even came close to being as fast, or agile, as his combine workouts suggested he could be.

I think this is likely UNLESS-

Watkins stays healthy all year.

Then I think they might seriously consider moving Hill.

They could really use the picks; we need to continue building defense and the offensive line is in need of a talent influx.

I know he won't but I hope Watkins stays here and gives the Chiefs a discount on his price. He seems like a cool and all around good guy. I'd love for him to play several more seasons here and rack up great numbers. But yeah... injuries.

You can't do that, you just signed Hill, if you trade him you get like a 30 million dollar cap hit.

I sincerely doubt they move Hill. I think having a Kelce-Hill-Mahomes thing on the long term with a bunch of guys coming and going is more what they will have in mind. JMO.

I don't think Hill will ever leave KC. The organization gave him his shot, then kept him on the team after all that went down personally for him. They trust him enough they gave him a lot of money. I think he finishes his career here with Mahomes throwing to him for another decade.

If you trade or cut someone, all of their bonus that you owe is put on the cap right then and there, June 1 cuts spit it into 2 years.

BigBeauford 09-23-2019 07:38 AM

People are crazy to think DROB is taking some kind of discount. This is his money making season; he is smartly going to get that payday either from us or someone else.

duncan_idaho 09-23-2019 08:00 AM

I think Robinson earns a decent deal and moves on after this season.

And next year, the Chiefs plug in another later round pick at WR who fits the scheme and have the same type of production from him.

Only way I see bringing back Robinson is if they move on from Watkins and want to stabilize the position.

I think that's extremely likely, though.

As we've seen, it takes a year to fully 'get' this offense. D-Rob can play any of the WR positions. You won't get that from a rookie or a first year FA. I think he's worth more to us than to other teams.

Watkins is great, but injury prone and becomes wildly expensive next year. I think Hill/Hardman/D-Rob looks just fine.

stevieray 09-23-2019 08:47 AM

Remember that throw to DRob in Denver in Pat's first start?

The scramble and the throw to the sideline?

I knew right then these guys were on the same page.

He's done nothing but get better. He and Tyreek have this uncanny ability/ knack to come up with major clutch catches.

I think he stays, and Pat makes him a star WR.

Whatever number it ends up being, DRob has made himself a ton of money so far this season. Good for him. He was really immature in college, so it's nice to see him get his priorities straight and start thriving for us. Great to see success stories like this guy.
