That safety turned the game around. Everyone in the crowd was anticipating it too.

The 49'ers are near the bottom of the league defensively. (Yeah, only 2 games in).
I would expect them to try to establish the run to keep the ball out of St. Patrick's hands. I think the Chiefs will do just fine against Breida, and proceed to go off on them. After getting a multiple score lead, both teams throw the ball all over the field. Chiefs 45 49'ers 31 |
First blowout of the Mahomes era.
45-20 |

Crowd noise should be at max level after the 1st two road victories & the sudden success of our new franchise qb. Hope it helps the defense. I'm guessing at least 3 false starts from the 49ers.
|
If we get out to too much of a lead, I hope Andy lets Mahomes keep ballin'. I hate the three runs in a row just to burn clock. Let him get those reps and keep lighting up the NFL.
|
Game on Fox, not CBS. Thom Brennaman & Chris Spielman calling game. No Fouts, which should put lead in someone's pencil.
|
Jimmy has taken a bunch of sacks already. If Houston can't break out this game, he never will.

Lol they have absolutely no pass rush and their defense is in complete disarray. 49ers will probably attempt to control ToP because that's really the only way to beat the Chiefs by limiting how many touches King Mahomes gets. So they'll attempt their little running attack but they'll become acquainted with one of the few bright spots we have on defense: our run D. We are built to force opponents into airing it out and no team in the entire league can keep pace.
The walkthrough before the game will probably be more challenging than the game itself. Honestly feel bad for the 49ers because come Sunday at Arrowhead their falling face-down into a Punji stick pit. |
Should be a win fairly in hand.
This one is for the home cookin' Without the home opener and the 49ers regression, I'd be a little more worried because the 49ers don't have familiarity of the Chargers, and they don't have the revenge of the Steelers. More of a chance for the opposition to present something that takes us by surprise. But they don't have the weapons, and GrapeSoda doesn't have the protection, to put anything on anyone. And the defense is suffering for that malaise. |
Mahomes first home game as a starter, a cities fanbase with more hope than we have had in my lifetime and that stadium needs to be earth shattering loud just to show the league again who we are.....
Meanwhile I will be at a Hooters in Orlando making the tables next to me wish that theyd stayed home. |
Jimmy G is a legit franchise QB for the Niners but I think Mahomes will definitely out duel him in Arrowhead (which will be LOUD af) .
Speaking of Jimmy G, what the deal with this meathead? He literally looks like Clark Kent/Superman (no homo) , starting QB of a storied NFL franchise & he decides to take a 40 year old pornstar out on a dinner date?! lmao suck a clueless idiot . He should be pursuing Victoria Secret models . Not wining & dining old washed up pornstars . https://nypost.com/2018/09/17/porn-s...mmy-garoppolo/ |

Hey there all. Don’t kill me yet hahaha. Anyways I’m a Niners fan. I just wanted to tell you all this game was penciled as a loss a long time ago. Hopefully both teams come out injury free. I’m looking for a competitive game (hopefully). That QB you have is on fire and you all have some serious weapons. If the Niners get into a shoot out no way we can keep up. We just don’t have the horse power yet. Any who. Good luck to an injury free and fun game.

Something interesting to consider... The 49ers DC is a gus Bradley guy. So basically we are playing the chargers defense except they have a lot less talent.

Jimmy G gets the ball out fast. He needs more weapons, though. Goodwin will help.

I will be back and be the first Niner fan to say good game no matter how it goes. As for the trap game, Andy won’t let that happen. |
Interesting stat..
Defenses on 3rd and long (6+ yards): Chiefs: 10% (one of league’s best) 49ers: 40% (one of league’s worst) |

I think their DBs are a pretty good matchup against Anthony Sherman. I don't see him getting a lot of easy catches.

will the home opener noise cloud Mahomes head? Alex seemed to play worse during home games, pressured to perform well in front of 80,000 screaming maniacs??!
Edit: what have I just done. I've compared Alex Small Balls Smith to Patrick Colossal Cock Mahomes Forgive me CP |

McMillan had a pick 6. They won the SB the year Montana beat them in 94 tho. |
Our defense might be the cure for a struggling 9'ers offense. But i don't think they can keep up.

I remember when people were worried about Watkins because of preseason LOL. He's gona be just fine. |

https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/n...d-2018-season/ Summary: 49ers have no pass rush and suspect corners. Mahomes II will feast. |

I don't think the 49ers have the horses to keep pace in this one like SD and PIT do and it's not even close. I think our D shows a bit of improvement this week. The Lions pass rush isn't much and they got 6 sacks on the 9ers, so that could be a good sign for the Chiefs. Outside of Richard Sherman, who doesn't really have the speed to keep up with Hill or Watkins, the rest of that secondary is pretty bad, especially at CB#2. Whoever lines up there is getting the ball deep often I'd think. Going to be an ass whooping. KC 56 SF 20 |
Don’t think he will, but hope Mahomes doesn’t press early on in this game to try and impress the home crowd. Just do your thing Pat. KC should roll

Alex Smith always seemed to play more conservatively at home. Hope Mahomes let it rip! |
Arrowhead is going to be insane. I looked at tickets 2 days ago. A few decent ones for $70 range. Today, logged in, and the prices skyrocketed towards $100 a ticket for upper level shit. I snagged a couple tickets for $250 total. Taking my girl. But god damn. I can't wait to see this. I love that KC is fully behind its new signal caller. Mahomes is our future and present.
|
Quote:
He's going to come home and have fun playing football because that's all he knows how to do. I truly believe he doesn't feel pressure. |
Quote:
I just meant I hope he doesn’t press early like the Denver game and be too amped up. He’s as cool as Joe Montana honestly. I don’t see a panic button on this kid and that’s refreshing considering the last QB. My buddy is a Skins fan and text me while Mahomes was throwing TDs, “meanwhile Alex is scoring FGs.” Lol I was like see, that’s why I bitched about him. |
CBS talking heads (Prisco and Beech) are predicting the Chiefs to win but by less than a Field Goal. Both say there's no way Mahomes can maintain this pace (I agree there - 6 touchdowns a game is a bit excessive) and that he's bound to start throwing INTs "any day now".
Pfeah. |
Quote:

Not sure why you'd pick him to fall off in the home opener against the 31st ranked passing D...
I'm also not a big believer in Jimmy G, finished last year with a 10/7 TD to INT ratio and his team wins some games at the end of the year that don't matter and he's given a massive contracted and the chosen one... Yea I don't get that. |

Sometimes I really ****ing hate sports pundits. |
49er fan here who was on the Patrick Mahomes bandwagon back to his college days. Let me tell you what I knew then: Patrick Mahomes is the Only Begotten Son of the Mighty Zeus; he is the Rightful King of the Andals and the First Men and Lord Protector of the Realm. If Goku and Superman fought, they’d both end up getting their asses kicked by Patrick Mahomes.
Basically, the Chiefs are going to win by twenty, but only because Reid will pull #15 midway through the third quarter. I’m assuming all the Alexsexuals and unbelievers who were on this forum before have since converted? Mahomes is Brett Favre 2.0 and will win multiple MVPs. As a 49er fan, I can only pray he has mercy. But any doubting Thomas Chief fans who remain should slap themselves. |

Because of Mahomes, it’s a great time to be a Chiefs fan. But even the Son of the Mighty Zeus can’t change the fact that the Chiefs uniforms are an affront to the human eye. So at least as a 49er fan I’ll have that going for me when the inevitable three touchdown lead arrives. No matter how great your team becomes, your uniforms will always be fugly. ;) |
