Sorry to hear this. Our prayers go to your family.

NUMBER7 04-29-2009 04:41 PM

So sorry to hear the news about your father...glad he has again found the Lord. I am praying for Jim you and your family. Take care.

Mr. Kotter 04-29-2009 04:49 PM

James, it ain't over until it's over. Regardless, you have my deep condolensces.

Despite whatever banter may occur on this board, I think I speak for some others who, having the privilege of meeting your father...understand what a good man he's been. Cognitive dissonance is an under-valued resource in life, and has therapeutic value to like-minded folks who are energized by intellectual stimulation. Jim has brought much to this board, and if the Lord is indeed calling him home...he will be greatly missed.

Please express our gratitude to him if you are able. God bless Jim, you James, and your families in this sad time. :(

Earthling 04-29-2009 04:50 PM

Tiatanman...I am so sorry to hear that Jim, your father, is so ill. I have enjoyed his banter for years, both here and on the old Star message board. He was always sincere and spoke his heart, even when it went against general consensus, and I admire him greatly. Tell him hello and God bless from Old Codger...(My old alias)

My prayers go out to you, him, and your family. I am happy to hear that he has found his way back to the Lord.

I lurk more than I post but I have been around here from the beginning so I have been able to read many of his posts. I didn't always agree with his position on stuff but I respected him as a member of this board. I am sorry to see him go.

SDChiefs 04-29-2009 04:59 PM

Sorry again to hear about your dad bro. He is in my prayers as always. Call me if you need anything.

Bowser 04-29-2009 05:37 PM

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim twice. He was a very kind man.

Prayers and well wishes for you and yours, James.

I wish Jim and all of your family all the best. Hopefully he isn't in too much pain. I will send up a prayer for him and your family.

I'm very sad to hear this. Yes, Jim like to stir things up, but posters like him keep the board interesting. And his strength and kindness were never hidden by his hijinks.

I pray that the Lord grant peace to Jim, James and the rest of the family at this difficult time.

old_geezer 04-29-2009 06:22 PM

I go back a long ways with your dad also. He and I used to battle Denise (Meme) on a daily basis on the old Pigskin Park BB and then on to this BB. We didn't always agree on politics or personal matters but we always respected each others' viewpoint and I'm now a better person because I got to know him. My prayers go out to you and the family. He's a good man and he will be missed by many.

Absolutely, our first year of hosting the fundraiser/bash he was very generous in sending a donation for our 37 Forever swim program even though he couldn't be present.I did thankfully have the opportunity to meet him the following year at the game during fundraiser weekend and he was quite enjoyable to visit with.

Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

KcFanInGA 04-29-2009 06:31 PM

Prayers to you and family. God calls a lot of people, be thankful your dad heard him.

the Talking Can 04-29-2009 06:52 PM

I like Jim a lot.

Tell him to get well.

htismaqe 04-29-2009 06:52 PM

One of the Star BB true originals. The board is losing a great member, but more importantly the world is losing a great man.

Bugeater 04-29-2009 07:04 PM

Sorry to hear that James, he will be sorely missed.

Groves 04-29-2009 07:08 PM

Sorry about your Dad, James. Suffering is never easy. We'll get to hang out forever after this whole "fallen creation" thing is rectified. I'll get to know him there.

patteeu 04-29-2009 08:02 PM

Logical, you've been a great member of this message board and I've enjoyed interacting with you for the past several years. Chiefsplanet will be diminished without you around and I'll miss you. Thanks for the good times, friend.

Cormac 04-29-2009 08:14 PM

This is awful news, James. All the best to you, Logical and your family. You get an impression of people on here, and almost always it's incorrect. Your father created a lot of debate on here and was an important part of this community.

boogblaster 04-29-2009 08:23 PM

Sorry for u'll ... I really didn't know Logical but liked his input ... Hopefully he'll pull it out ... My prayers BOOG .....

mlyonsd 04-29-2009 08:32 PM

What I knew of Jim is he would always keep you honest. I hope the legacy is passed onto his family.

The Bad Guy 04-29-2009 08:33 PM

Jim was always one of my favorite posters around here. For some reason, he never thought I liked him, but nothing was further from the truth. He could debate with the best of them, but also provide great advice if you needed it.

If this is his time, I will certainly miss him. May God bless him and his entire family.

DaFace 04-29-2009 09:07 PM

Wow...that's a kick to the nuts. So sorry to hear this James. Keep hoping for a miracle. You're in my thoughts.

Oh, and I've changed his name back to "Logical" for posterity in case any of you are hunting for his profile.

Crush 04-29-2009 09:40 PM

Prayers all around. I never knew Logical personally, but I enjoyed his posts over the years. I wish the best for his family and will keep him in my prayers.

splatbass 04-29-2009 09:42 PM

I'm really sorry to hear this. Jim is a good man, and he will be missed around here. Over the years we had our disagreements, but in the last year or so we agreed more often than we disagreed. Either way I always respected his opinion.

tk13 04-29-2009 10:12 PM

Best of luck to you and your family. Very sad. I've always enjoyed reading his posts for the better part of a decade, and like Phobia said, I always got the feeling he played a huge part in keeping this place financially afloat.

Hello All,

As many of you know my Dad (Logical) has been in the hospital since January. He has been fighting a bunch of different problems, and it looked like he was going to beat it, and make it home. Unfortunately, in the past week things took a real turn for the worse. It is my understanding that he has at most two weeks left, but from what I can see myself, it probably won't be that long.

I know he really valued this board and a lot of the people on it. I wanted you all to know that he may of been a person that liked to stir things up, but he is one of the most caring people that this world has ever had to offer. He helped raise my sisters and I to be strong, loving, and intelligent people.

In these past few months, he has again found the Lord, and I strongly believe it is simply God calling him home. Please remember him for the good times, and do not judge him to harshly for the times he gave any of you heck.

He is my father, and a great man.

Thank You,

James

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, my family's heart and prayers go out to you an yours. God Bless You....

Prayers your way, Jim.

Titanman -

I'm sure you don't remember, but we met years ago at a Chiefs game in San Diego, where I was organizing a tailgate. I had been scrapping with your dad on the Planet for awhile, but he reached out and wanted to stop by anyway, and I was glad he (and you) did. You are right that he was very nice in person. Your note that he has found the Lord is terrific news.

Sure-Oz 04-29-2009 10:46 PM

My prayers are with you and the family, this is pretty sad to hear, but i am hoping you all enjoy the time that is left and really i don't know what else to say. God Bless

So sorry to hear this. Though I'm a man of few posts, Ive been a member for about 6 yrs. Logical is truly one of the names synonymous with this place. Gr8 news that he has made his peace. It's not the same without him. God Bless your family.

Enjoy the time you have left with your father, though I'm sure you already know to do that. And one piece of good news, he got to see the dethroning of King Carl!

FAX 04-30-2009 08:12 AM

Words can't really express how this news affects me. I'm very sorry to hear this. Terribly sorry. Based on his absence and the information Mr. Logical shared with me in the past regarding his health conditions, I had a feeling something was wrong. I'm shocked and stunned.

I never met Mr. Logical in person, but so far as one board member can consider another a friend, I certainly think of him that way. My condolences to the family and my very best wishes to Mr. Logical. I am most happy that he made peace with God and am certain that he will be welcomed by the Maker with open arms should that time come.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Wow, God's speed Jim. Best wishes to your family in this really tough time. We have some hella-fied prayer rep coming you guys' way.

You helped make this place what it is today, and this thread is proof of how special a place it can be from time to time.

God bless, you will be missed.

Chiefnj2 04-30-2009 08:50 AM

I'm glad to hear that Jim is at peace and has a supportive and loving family around him during his time of need. I'm saddened to read that his health has taken a turn for the worse, but the Jim we've all come to know on the Planet seems to be a stubborn old cuss and a fighter. I wouldn't be surprised to read, and I hope and wish, that he bounces back. Best of luck Jim/Vlad/Logical/Cronus.

James, thank you for the post. I am heartbroken to hear this (thank you, Frankie, for giving me the heads up) and for once in my life have no words to express how I feel about a situation.

Jim will laugh at the idea of me being speechless. All of you are in my prayers.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
