In club ball she played with the guys, and the other teams would complain that that there was a girl on the team.

LSU saw the video too and apparently didn't like it.

I've never been this invested in a women's basketball game. I really hope the Hawkeyes can curb stomp LSU tomorrow, and that Clark displays even more disrespectfulness. Let's go!

Why is there a need to respect players in womens basketball? She was defending what I would assume was a point guard and the sport is so devoid of talent that she didn't even feel the need to guard her at the 3 point line, and then she ****ing passed the ball. Why the **** would you respect an opponent that cant even respect themselves? The worst 3 point shooting point guard in the NBA/NCAA takes that shot or he's probably benched.

Jewish Rabbi 04-01-2023 06:39 PM

Clark was just telling that bitch to go make her a sandwich

mlyonsd 04-01-2023 06:58 PM

Well yeah Morris, if you can hit the shot you will change how they play you. It's called fundamental basketball.

Plus their coach seems obnoxious. Hey please keep the camera on me in my Randy Macho Man feather jacket or hot pink mariachi outfit.

It wasn’t disrespectful. If they allowed SC to play their game they get blown out. They defended the paint and tried to force SC to beat them outside which they couldn’t do. Teams do that all the time in all sports.

Totally. They're probably referring to the dismissive wrist motion. I don't care. I think it's awesome. Mainstream sports people are actually talking about women's basketball. This almost never happens. I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow's game.

Agreed. Normally most people would not even be aware that the women’s tournament was going on without stuff like this.

Any is probably a stretch I'm also not sure 1 on 1 determines what kind of player anyone is. For example she would definitely lose to my old teammate who's 6'8 220 pounds played at Nebraska. She's only 6'0 155 physically there's no way she's shutting someone down who outweighs her by that much and is that much taller. She's not playing that many women that size at all.

Oh, cool. So you’ve cited your old teammate who is 6’8 220 who played D1 basketball while BWillie said anyone on CP who played HS basketball under the age of 38 would “mop the floor” with her.

I’m sure there are people who can beat her. But you’re under 38 and it seems played HS basketball so would you have mopped the floor with her?

Mop the floor no could I score on her sure. Could I score on a 6'0 all American men's basketball player? It would be increasingly more difficult.

Sad you limit yourself.

I am more of a Seabiscuit fan myself. The book is incredible, and the movie is pretty damn good too.

Anyone who likes men's basketball should love watching superstar players like Caitlin Clark, and my favorite player Paige Bueckers, play basketball.

I honestly believe, that when healthy, Bueckers is a better all-around player, mostly because she is better defensively, but Clark is the best shooter I have ever seen at the Women's level, college or pro.

She would run circles around you and make you look dumb. And bold call saying it would be more difficult to score on a male All American than a female All American. As if we’re having a conversation comparing it to your ability to score in the paint against Zach Edey.

Mike Trout is the most boring superstar player ever. I feel so sorry for Shoei Ohtani because he is wasting his prime on a crap team like the Angels. I feel bad for Trout too, but he could have left, so it's partially his fault for staying.

The Angels have 2 of the best 10 players on earth, so they sell tickets, and that's all the team cares about.

I just saw a video a couple of days ago with a WNBA star. I was high so I cannot remember who it was, or who was doing the interview, but it was a sports podcast with former pro players from the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

I know the player is one of the top WNBA stars, and they asked her if she could beat any NBA players in one-on-one, and she immediately, without hesitation, said absolutely not. She said that no WNBA star could even beat an NBA bench player who averages 2 minutes a game.

However, Caitlin Clark is 6' tall, is really strong, and has an amazing handle, and unlimited range, and could absolutely win games of one-on-one against some male walk-ons in D-1, and definitely against the people posting in this thread.

This isn't the 'Gotcha' you think it is.

Nowell is listed at 5'8" and 160 pounds, but he probably benches around 3 bills. He is a 3rd Team All-American, and won the Bob Cousy Award for best PG in the country.

You act like he is a walk-on because he is only 5'7"

Ridiculous

My point is men are superior to women physically and there's alot of men who would dog walk her 1 on 1 too. This is really a nothing burger but we're supposed to pretend she's remotely on the same level as alot of men and she just isn't. It's like when people pretend the women's national soccer team is this awesome thing but lost to a high school boys team

Right. Women shoot just as well as men, pass etc . Its just that basketball is so reliant on size, then speed, then jumping ability. She could go into any college mens competitive rec league and be a good player. I just get tired of people overexaggerating. There are people dead serious on Facebook saying she should enter the portal to play on a D1 mens team, perhaps a midmajor. When I mean there are zero D1 teams she could play for, I mean zero. At least on scholarship.

I learned this the easy way. My freshman team was split into two teams in high school. My team scrimmaged against the varsity girls who were #4 in the state. I was so scared, I was like shit we are gonna get curbstomped by girls and everyone is going to make fun of us. We won by 52. And the scrubs played, alot.

Of course women physically aren’t on the same level as men. That’s absurd that these are nothing burgers. The best versions of the uswnt are fun to watch. And losing a ****around scrimmage to high schoolers is a ridiculous jab. Theyre great players in their own right. Caitlin clark is great in her own right. Why does anyone care if their greatness is measured by being superior to their biological peers? It’s such a weird thing to be defensive about. Just have fun and watch greatness.

Most wnba players dominate because they have better size or speed than their wnba counterparts. That doesn’t translate well on a men’s level. What makes clark intriguing is that she wins because she has a lightning fast release on top of really good handles. She shoots like Steph curry.

Yeah, she’ll get annihilated on defense and of course she’s not going to compete with top D1 athletes. But you’re probably right that she can probably hang at a higher level than most women can. You always have to take that with a grain of salt because of course some dimwit will try to act like she could play for UConn or even Princeton.

jd1020 04-02-2023 09:22 AM

Is this another version of Ronda Rousey would beat Floyd Mayweather?

There's a reason why men and women sports are separate. There's a reason why transgender men are smashing women records. Caitlin Clark would not hang in a mens league. Stop that bullshit.

I've never seen her play and dont care to see her play, but I have no problem saying she could hang better than most women against men. That's just a fact, if she is as good at basketball as people in this thread say, but it's a fact against men in general. We aren't talking about men in general. We are talking about men that are as good in their sport comparatively to Caitlin in hers, a sport that is far superior in athletism, size, and power. She would get smashed in a mens league.

Even the best WNBA players understand they wouldn't win against even the worst bench player in the NBA. As soon as the NBA gets tired of paying the salaries of players for a league that is losing millions of dollars year after year, the WNBA wont exist.

I love how you continue to think that any male high school basketball player under the age of 38 could "mop the floor with her" and somehow now that's morphed into some absurdity that I'm arguing that she could hang with D1 men's athletes.

Chiefspants 04-02-2023 10:56 AM

This argument always devolves into some form of "well, college women couldn't compete with college men, so why watch?"

So, if that's the standard, why would any person watch college sports when college teams would always get wiped away by their professional counterparts?

I admitted earlier in the thread that the FF game was the most I've ever watched of women's hoops. But hell, it was a lot of fun. Clark is just a generational talent in WCBB and I had fun watching the game and watching her will her team against an undefeated opponent. Why does the conversation always have to go to "WELL MARKQUIS NOWELL WOULD KICK HER ASS"

KCUnited 04-02-2023 11:06 AM

The mens tournament is filled with a bunch of future Enterprise Rent A Car front desk employees out there chucking up bricks after passing it around awkwardly for 25 seconds.

I watch that shit so I'll for sure be watching a superior talent within her sport play today.

Willing to bet she's capable of watching a clit high fastball go by for strike 3 with runners in scoring position, nobody out, just like our boys

That Ciziano chick pretty good too. I'm still learning their names. Ill be watching the second half. Ive never, ever watched morw than 5 minutes of a womens basketball game before. Caitlin must indeed be the Steph Curry of wimmenz bball if it can get me to do that

To all those who keep saying "I've never watched women's basketball." You and I watched the Chiefs for the entire 2008 and 2012 seasons.
Trust me, what Caitlin Clark and the Iowa women's team are doing now is FAR more enjoyable.

Prison Bitch 04-02-2023 12:30 PM

I’d rather watch bad NFL than Wimmin hoops

I watch that shit so I'll for sure be watching a superior talent within her sport play today.

So I went to a college, Kansas, that has been a perennial top ten program and I think the reffing in the NBA is a complete joke. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't watch college BB and I didn't have any interest the men's final four this year.

But each to their own.

There are freaks out there watching baseball and soccer, so I mean, you could do worse...

Was hoping CC would mouth "Chieeeeeeefs" at the end of the anthem. LMAO

They finally had to call a foul on LSU

ThyKingdomCome15 04-02-2023 02:13 PM

This is this first basketball I've watched in a long time thanks to this thread. Clark is awesome.

CaliforniaChief 04-02-2023 02:21 PM

Caitlin Clark makes women's basketball fun to watch. LSU's coach is making it not as much fun. She's insufferable.

mlyonsd 04-02-2023 02:22 PM

LSU shooting lights out.

tredadda 04-02-2023 02:29 PM

Not looking good for Iowa right now. LSU can’t miss from 3.

Kman34 04-02-2023 02:30 PM

Iowa imploding.. LSU too much for them..Clark with 3 fouls..

Pepe Silvia 04-02-2023 02:31 PM

Mulkey knows how to win the big games.

chiefzilla1501 04-02-2023 02:32 PM

I can’t imagine why any ref thinks any person in the world wants to watch a final with a million foul calls

I am rooting for Iowa, but I like Kim Mulkey, too. She's one of the few coaches still out there that doesn't coddle players. Old school coach. If you recall when Brittney Griner had her ordeal in Russia, Mulkey showed no sympathy for her and she coached her at Baylor.

siberian khatru 04-02-2023 02:36 PM

Of course that went in

mlyonsd 04-02-2023 02:36 PM

Wow at LSU shooting.
