FYI - unsure if this info is on the web yet - but my cousin is in the know about a lot w/ regards to film and they're remaking Suspiria!

Horror is a genre I used to really like when younger but kinda stopped following closely and not sure why. Have a bunch of the popular mainstream and indie ones in the past few years in my queue but never seem to get around to it.

H20 was really good- loved that one. For me, it's up there with the first and second. The fourth and fifth with his niece are watchable. Season of the Witch, the one with Paul Rudd and Resurrection were all shit. |

Also...watched Zombies 31 this weekend...meh...better than Rejects...but...meh |
Watched The Witch this weekend.
Suspense/Thriller type movie...i was a little disappointed. It had some really cool artistic, unique elements. I just don't think the ending did it justice. |

not bad. very creepy in some parts. not bad. I did expect more...but worth watching. also SR I know you said you don't dig subtitles...but Train to Busan....it's good man. very rare to find a new zombie movie that's worth a crap. the zombies in this thing are the SHIZZLE. this is just a good solid flick! |
Penny Dreadful movie vs series....
I haven't seen either...but may... can anybody explain how the two connect? does the movie end where the series takes off or what? |

One of my faves growing up. Didn't like the remake but the original is good.

I would add any of David Lynch's films to the list

I watched two new ones yesterday and Monday night.
#1 - Don't Breathe - above average but not excellent. #2 - Lights Out - same review as above. |
I saw "I Spit On Your Grave 2" the other day. Holy shit. I can stomach all kinds of fake torture and gore, but this one bothered me...
I also saw the 3rd one, but after part 2 it really seemed somewhat tame. |

about to watch Insidious Chapter 3

Lin Shaye can literally carry a horror flick. She's so awesome.

I watched Creep last night (yes, my selection is reduced to Netflix). My viewing of this was probably badly timed because it seemed to combine the found footage aspect of VHS and the "get the F away now, dumbass" aspect of Honeymoon. The ending, while probably predictable, still gives you a good chill.

Looks pretty good and has 7.5 stars on IMDb |
I saw Rob Zombie's "31" last night.
Itz aight....Just another senseless shock-horror movie, if you're into that. |

A couple of fairly well known ones here, but always worth a rewatch:
Maniac (1980) http://116.imagebam.com/download/cky...322/Maniac.gif <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yngGjSgztJ0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> and the horror comedy classic Return of the Living Dead (1985) Here are a couple of very NSFW gifs of Linnea Quigley as "Trash" Image: Not Safe for Work

Thinking about checking this one out. Looks a little cheesy but might not be too bad.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aesoqJIruwI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Aso this looks interesting but doesn't come out til December. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Gp2adx_ScA8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Sorry if it's been mentioned before buy 2 great horror films you may have missed: </br></br>Jacob's Ladder </br>The Serpent and the Rainbow </br></br> Jacob's Ladder is genuinely creepy even for most hard core horror fans.

I love this site, just about any horror movie made is on it.

I watched the Maniac remake from 2012. Worth a watch. Some gory kills and some boobs. Not too crazy about the first person pov camera work though. I also watched Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. It's a slasher mockumentary. Pretty cool. Slasher fans, or people who enjoyed Cabin in the Woods should like it. |

I'm digging this Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon Trailer
|
Quote:
This movie was his most lewd. This was clearly aimed to be a shock-horror film and not much else. Example: One of the clowns tells a joke, "What's sicker than ****ing a pregnant woman? ****ing the baby afterwards!" The overall story is very cliche and been done before. It had some good humor in it, lots of gore. It had a couple of interesting characters and several that were just throw aways...as if they were made simply to fill air time. There were times where i felt like Zombie was trying to channel his inner Tarantino with the dialogue.... Overall i enjoyed it, but you should know what to expect. |
We Are Still Are Here is a good nostalgic nod to some late 70's /early 80's horror flicks...similar to It Follows but a different story. I really enjoyed this one.

so then I went and checked out 13 sins. AWESOME movie! just great. I just love that gal from True Blood...so yummy. and the way they wrapped it up at the end was pretty damn cool. I'm very....critical of horror movies. they're far and away my favorite...and MOST are far and away just horrible. it's always a breath of fresh air to hit on one that's actually GOOD.
Spoiler!
