But what a glorious SB win that was...Curb-stomping Horseface/Manning 43-8 in front of a billion people?

Can never hate on the Seahawks for soul-crushing Donko fans.

Russell Wilson is the most overrated QB of all time

Sounds like it would be hard to trade a guy like that.

But, but, but, . . . the poor thing got HECKLED . . . by doughy middle-aged bags of mayonnaise wearing New Balance and Dockers in the stands!!

How many $Ms are you supposed to TAKE for that kind of abuse?!?!

That play call on the goal line that LOST the SB to the Pats was the final straw. Had it succeeded and they won it probably wouldnt have mattered to most of them, but if most of the team really believed Carroll was trying to get Wilson the SB MVP by calling that play then this ending was inevitable. Theres really no getting over that when they dont like the guy (Wilson) to begin with.

Yep, I think this was the straw that broke the camel's back. The Hawks had that game won, and Carroll called the exact wrong play, I believe, to let Wilson be the glory hound for the win. Total crap. They should have handed the ball to Skittles for the win. Just run the ball in. Game over.

Stupid Carroll.

I don't think Wilson is overrated, I think he's a damn fine QB. That said, that team won due to two main reasons, the incredible defense, and running the ball. Wilson was a valuable asset to the offense, there's no doubt in my mind that he had a lot to due with the offense being good enough to win a SB. But he's not Aaron Rogers, he's not a gunslinger, throw the ball 35+ times a game kind of QB. He's more of a rock solid, make clutch plays at key moments, run the ball for an occasional first down, type of QB.

I actually worry people will do it to Mahomes.

Black players tend to dislike light skinned black dudes who come from money and 'act white'. Same reason so many NBA guys hate Steph Curry. Nobody really talks publicly about it, but it's a thing.

Kaep had the same problem in his locker room, which is why he went full african revolutionary to get black cred.

I'm not saying it's the reason, but the resentment is there from the start.

I had honestly forgotten Mahomes dad was black. If Reid doesn’t go soft ass kid gloves on Mahomes it will be fine. Wilson was fine until he sucked it up and couldn’t take it.

Dudes hate Curry because he is a trash talking dancing in your face ****er. He tries to play the nice guy off the court but there isn’t a bigger prick in the league. Well except Dramond Greene but that dude is in a world all his own.

I agree. He can do more than this but that team isn’t winning.

It should also be noted that he and RGIII are pretty much the only guys that have went over the top “developing their brand” with social media and so on. And it hasn’t worked out well. At all. The guys that have been successful have done most of the brand development is done on the field.

I'm glad they imploded, dynasties ****ing suck... until the Chiefs start one, that is

Eleazar 09-08-2018 01:54 PM

Wilson is definitely overrated, and maybe he's mentally soft too. It sounds like it. But Carroll definitely lost that team himself, starting with putting the game in Wilson's hands at the goal line in the Super Bowl instead of letting Lynch finish them off. That kind of thing is going to be hard to come back from with many of those guys, lots of whom aren't going to get another shot.

Rebuilding around Wilson instead of building the kind of team that Wilson benefitted from being on isn't going to end well.

Just this year look at the STL Cardinals. Not bad but under performing. Get the players on the same page and winning increases above the talent level. This isn't new information but coaches and GM's consistently undervalue this part of a successful team.

I personally heard DT and Smith trash the offense in a public place many times. They were pissed.

There is some survivorship bias in this though. You never(or rarely) hear about a title team who hates each other, but I’m sure it happens. It is also easy to write of a bad team for other reasons like the Royals this year. They seem to all like each other and have a good time but that doesn’t translate to wins. So you can say “well yes it’s just their talent level”, disregarding the fact that they have good chemistry.

Donovan McNabb is neither light-skinned, nor was he born into money.

Yeah, but you know he put raisins in his potato salad.

We put dog ticks in our tater salad but pretended they were raisins. Does that count?

Admit it! After you read the thread title every damn one of you thought you were going to be reading an article about the Chiefs.
I know I did.
