Didn't watch but it's hard to win any game with 3 in the E column. Go take care of the Brewers.

Oquendo says he doesn't want to manage in the future. Publicly throws his support behind Schildt.
https://www.stltoday.com/sports/colu...71f2b99f8.html

“He’s doing great,” Oquendo said of Shildt. “He’s doing everything he’s supposed to be doing, everything a good manager would do. He’s ahead. He prepares well. He prepares the whole staff, all of the players, before the game, on how we are going to attack and play the other team, what we are going to look for.”

Oquendo knows some fans were fuming when he was not promoted to interim manager. He hears the calls for him to be considered this offseason. Those backing him should hear this loud and clear: Oquendo is throwing his support behind Shildt.

“I think the Cardinals have the right guy in Mike,” Oquendo said. “I think, to me, in my opinion, they should decide now and make him the manager. He’s a real good one. I don’t think they should miss him.”

Oquendo, 55, said he is not interested in becoming a manager. President of baseball operations John Mozeliak had this information when he fired former manager Mike Matheny and promoted Shildt. Oquendo’s stance isn’t going to change.
“He’s legit,” Oquendo said. “The staff and everybody are pulling together, on the same page. We are giving our opinions. He’s listening.”

That is good to hear. I wondered about that relationship, but everything seemed okay, and with the players seemingly united it makes sense that there was no tension created by Oquendo.

Fun Fact: Position players who have pitched this year (excluding Ohtani) have a collective ERA of 7.16. Greg Holland just recently got his ERA below 7 and sits at 6.83.

Apparently we would have been better off letting Munoz close for us earlier in the year. :banghead:

Holland hasn't given up a run yet. Want him back?

Terrifying is worse than aggressively hating.

He hasnt given up a run yet because the run he walked in against the Cubs was credited to another pitcher but that runner was on first and he only recorded 1 out on the benefit of a bullshit call from an umpire on a wild throw to first.

Trying to think of a player on this team's history I've hated more than him.

Hitting is hard, apparently. .
Back to back 1-0 defeats.

Bring on football. The illusion has been shattered.

You still like giving up your young talent for Archer?
