Southwest just restored service to pre pandemic levels. What exactly do you think is going to happen? Are people going to stop coming to and from Kansas City? LMAOLMAO |

The number one air traffic to KCI is freight just the way it is. Sad for a city steeped in airline history but KC and city hall in a nutshell lost that along with the racetrack and all that went in around it. |

This downward spiral you are speaking of is news my friends actually involved in the operation of the airport day to day. Food and beverage places anywhere always overhire early and cut back from there that is just how that business goes. Look, it is fine that you have hated this project from the start but no need to make things up. |

Did you get harmed as a child in a new airport when you were young? What happened to make you feel so compelled to make things up out of thin air. https://www.kcur.org/news/2023-02-02...t-opening-date |

I won't even begin with the overhead problems on climate control and construction costs that went and will go into that decision but do you think 99% of people buzzing through an airport to get on their next flight even care? What KC does effects me about as much as billay's sex life so my interest lies more in the WTF led you to that decision as opposed to personal attachment. I honestly with nothing but the best for the new KC airport. |

I imagine some people would be pissed if it looked just as dreary and outdated as the old airport with people bitching along the lines of "$1.5 billion and they couldn't even make it look nice?!?!" I've been in a lot of airports and have walked by a lot of art and what not... I still remember Atlanta's glowing tunnels from when I was there ~15 years ago. It didn't change my life, but I assume didn't bankrupt Atlanta and probably makes people smile for a minute. |
One thing that I will mention about art is that it can serve as a waypoint or meetup spot, which is important in a place like an airport. Plus, it's better for morale than wandering through some sort of East Germany concrete block structure built at the lowest bid. As human beings, we no longer dwell in the primeval forest, so we need to have some type of beauty in our environment.
