That was 20 years ago. He made $2.6 million cumulative in MLB starting in 1992, never more than $750k in one year. We have no idea how he might’ve burned through that in his playing days and what was left when he stopped playing independent league baseball in 2009.

I don't know how anyone expects a drug addict to act rationally. These people are in pain and are looking to dull the pain. They are the most self-absorbed and self-destructive people around. They need help, not punishment.
