Was he concussed? Just shell shocked? I don’t recall ever seeing him look like that in a big game, especially in the playoffs!?! He didn’t even looked like he was fired up on the sidelines like normal rallying the troops.

It’s like the Chiefs offense and Mahomes were beamed aboard an alien ship at halftime and they replaced them with what we saw in the second half . . . . . just don’t get it.

They were moving the ball ‘at will’ in the first half and then all of a sudden couldn’t do anything at all.

And it’s not like the Bengals defense was all that great either. They weren’t dominating the line of scrimmage or anything. Pat looked like he couldn’t do anything or make a decision and wouldn’t just tuck it and run with it when he had the opening . . . . . the whole thing was just weird.

They looked like they (offense) mailed it in the second half and I’m just trying to figure out why? Did the Bills games from last week take too much out of them or did they just put it in ‘coast mode’ cause they thought they could cruise to victory after the way the first half went?

I don’t know that I’ll ever understand that loss and Pat’s play in the second half. It just doesn’t make any sense at all.

That's where everybody is at I think.

John Elway took some of the worst beatings of his life in the Super Bowl and his legacy wasn't tarnished.

John Elway was one and done against a first year expansion Jaguars team at home as a 1 seed.

And he had a 10 point lead in that game

Mahomes was mentioned as possibly one of the two or three best qbs of all time. You don’t think this loss hurts his resume?

What other QB has hosted 4 AFCCGs in a row? Name 1 besides Mahomes..

Meanwhile, the media and NFL wouldn't shut up about Aaron Rodgers for the last how many years? What's he done? Won 1 Super Bowl. That's it.

Short of Brady, Mahomes has been the most successful QB in NFL History in his first 4 years in the league.

Brady\Pats were up 21-6 at the half against the Colts in the 2006 AFCG and lost. it happens to the best of them

KC_Connection 01-30-2022 08:33 PM

Great QBs have bad games sometimes in the playoffs. There are literally examples of this with every elite player in every sport (Brady being the most prominent throughout his career in the NFL). Sucks that it had to be today with Mahomes but that’s the way she goes.

If Mahomes never has another playoff win? Sure.

But people have short memories. Basically every Hall of Fame QB (even Top 3) have losses like this on their resume, it's part of playing the game.

dannybcaitlyn 01-30-2022 08:35 PM

It’s like Mahomes received a call during halftime from the Mob and was told to throw the game or his entire family was getting Axed, type of play.

louie aguiar 01-30-2022 08:35 PM

Ok maybe I need to step back from the ledge. Good night and go chiefs. We always have next year.

petegz28 01-30-2022 08:35 PM

I mean we should have won this game easily, no doubt about it.

As I watch Jimmy G. throw an INT that just sent the Rams to the Super Bowl

dirk digler 01-30-2022 08:36 PM

Jimmy G just threw one of the all time worst INT's ever to end a season. Ouch

RunKC 01-30-2022 08:37 PM

Every great QB has terrible playoff losses.

-Brady lost to Eli 2X, Foles and got embarrassed at home by Flacco
-Manning got his ass beat by Herm Edwards, was constantly choking
-Favre choked all the time. Vick home loss, STL ass beating, game defining INT to lose to Eli
-Rodgers has tons of embarrassing playoff losses. Lost to Jimmy G and Kaepernick twice, Seattle debacle, etc.
-Elway lost to a first year expansion Jaguars team at home as a 1 seed. That alone is maybe the most embarrassing playoff loss ever
-Jim Kelly lost 4 straight Super Bowls

Every great player has terrible playoff games. Even QB’s

He threw a bunch of terrible passes last week but the Packers kept dropping them.

Shiver Me Timbers 01-30-2022 08:40 PM

How about this-
Crap play calling the 2nd half. Spags Dazed and confused the second half. Clark and Jones half assing it most of the time and a bit of complacency on the whole team. With a side of PM will get us out of this. The base of this team is set. Fix what needs fixed which includes saying so long to Spags

When they showed Mahomes on the sidelines he was by himself. Looking “something” like we have never seen. Usually they are going over coverages, looking at the coverages on tablets.

We saw several wide open receivers that he just didn’t throw to. Why didn’t he take off running instead of staying back there for 10 seconds?

One playoff choke against a few playoff clutch performances is not a legacy breaker. Sorry, that math just doesn’t add up.

Still stands.

Mahomes is the ****ing man. Period.

He's worth every ****ing penny. Period.

You, and every single last one of these ****ing bleeding ****s can savagely **** yourselves with a chainsaw.

Go ahead and kick the guy you were over the moon about just one week ago, while he's down. It's about your ****ing speed.

Maybe if his overrated "offensive guru" head coach knew ANYTHING about situational football, he wouldn't be put in such terrible situations, and Andy himself would have more than one ring out of EIGHT title game appearances.

If it weren't for Mahomes super heroics, he wouldn't even have the one he has. Reid should be thanking Christ Almighty for Patrick Mahomes bringing him a title. Because he damn sure wouldn't have one with anyone else the way he coaches the biggest games.

It's like a reerun trying to **** a doorknob when Andy takes the field in big games.

Sadly for all of you worthless dickshitters, we got this dude for the next decade. Hard for anyone with an IQ above room temperature to be too discouraged by this loss, knowing we have #15. He will drag all you whining complaining little ****s kicking and screaming to multiple world titles while you squabble amongst yourselves about how you don't even know if he's a legitimate NFL qb or not.

**** you, drink antifreeze.

It did delay a dynasty. That is significant but I think it also lit a fire in Mahomes that will fuel him to never be satisfied. That and losing to Tom Brady twice.

We're just weeks away at this point, fellas.

Those who start with a clean slate every season (or every game) will get their time to shine.

Will it be after a Mahomes interception in the 1st quarter against the Lions? Or maybe the Chiefs are only leading 10-3 in the 2nd quarter. Maybe KT drops a pass, which a WR1 would never do.

I don't know what will trigger someone's inner pete, but I do know it'll happen unless the Chiefs are up 4+ touchdowns by the end of the first quarter and never let teams back in the game.

Are two kids becoming more of a distraction for Mahomes? Does he need to get over himself after building such an obscene house? Does he have a Super Bowl hangover that will last the next 15 years? And how exactly will the NFL rig everything against the Chiefs this season?

Hell, maybe the worst case happens and they drop to 0-1, and Baby Lee drops by to tell us stories of yesteryear and how complete teams win Super Bowls.

Can't wait, LFG!!!

I was riffing on Bearcat's interpretive dance of a CP gameday thread. When anything goes wrong the speculation begins that the NFL is rigged against the Chiefs. (they're doing a pretty poor job of that the last 5 years or so, but w/e)

Typically someone comments that the NFL "admitted" it fixes games in a courtroom recently, that the back of your ticket says this, that they are not doing sports but "sports entertainment".

Guy has a real problem. He lacks the emotional intelligence to take a goddamn chill pill when not everything is going Mahomes' way, and he lacks the wisdom to admit when his unfounded character attacks on the QB were shown to be utterly reeruned in every way.

Bad combination. No way to go through life, that's for sure. He's probably better off staying in DC, but we know he'll be back to post more bullshit during the regular season.

Lmao found it:

Oh yeah, and like I said, he'll NEVER admit it was wrong to suggest that as a remote possibility.

He doesn't ignore the challenges, either. He manic posts and responds to just about everybody who calls him a butt****ing moron. And with each post, he digs his hole deeper and deeper.

Sad to watch.

LMAO Perfect. Pete is a clown

This douche legit thought Pat was some low IQ Brett Favre dumb**** who didn't even know the play he was running half the time.

"Time to learn how to play QB" indeed. The guy cracked the code on the bullshit ultra deep coverage defenses in less than half of a season. Barring any new rule changes like defenses getting an extra 12th man, defensive coordinators around the NFL are now basically out of coverages and looks they can throw at Mahomes. He's solved them all.

And we knew he was that smart when we got him.

But teh backyard foosballz!!!!!

There was also the classic "Mahomes should have to walk home from Denver"

Mahomes has never lost to Denver.

Man, and he wears that stupidity with so much pride. He thinks he's just sticking to the facts but in reality he's the biggest "feelings" poster on this entire board.

Ya know...I always wonder how those practices at Texas Tech went. That defense was so shitty, they probably could've put 12 or 13 on the field and Pat would've still torched their asses. I'd love to be able to go back and watch a few of those.

If there's only one guy on the Chiefs that deserves the benefit of the doubt, it has to be Mahomes. Striking down on him for poor play is just dumb. He's capable of being otherworldly at any moment on the field. So, lashing out and doubting him is fools errand.

Mahomes threw 3 interceptions in the game. It was the third 3 interception game of Mahomes' career. He's started 80 games.

Chiefs still won by a TD.

Typically someone comments that the NFL "admitted" it fixes games in a courtroom recently, that the back of your ticket says this, that they are not doing sports but "sports entertainment".

So you were gerbilling your way up his ass! Did you at least get a ham samich ass sniffer?

When called out by Chiefspants who said as someone who made the most embarrassing thread of all time on this place, he should avoid hyperbole like this, ol Pete did exactly as RealSNR described, and doubled down with this.
