That's a miracle in itself. It should be heavier (7 pounds or so) for a "combat" rifle, but it can still be smooth.

That is usually the biggest gripe about a bullpup, but companies like Desert Tech, IMF, and KelTec have figure it out.

Frazod 03-28-2017 07:17 PM

Interesting. I've never even heard of that before. They do look pretty badass, though.

One of the things I don't have is a bullpup rifle. You'll have to let us know how it holds up.

Dunit35 03-28-2017 07:37 PM

Come down to Enid, America and I'll let you shoot it. I'll even provide the ammo.

I'm going to throw on Magpul iron sights and foregrip. I'm not sure if I'm going to add my favorite red dot, which is the Vortex Sparc or go with something that has magnification to it. Maybe one of those 1-4's.

All of our firearm instructors and range master highly approve of it. We're waiting on chief approval to carry it on duty.

Couldn't resist and bought one with a LEO discount. Made it too cheap to resist. Going to buy my first suppressor for it as well. It's about regular AR length with the suppressor.

I don't have it yet so no pictures. You'll have to look online.

Hopefully these will be more available than their .308 RFB predecessor.

I got one back in 2011 and have only seen 2 for sale since then.

The website I bought it from gtdistributors, has the RFB as well. It's priced at $13something.

The RDB was $886 OTD.

Those are law enforcement prices though.

Has anybody shot a 1-4 scope? Curious as to close range type stuff.

I have a Leupold VX-R on my 18" AR. It's awesome. It has a red dot so it functions like a regular optic up close.

The price for that says "see price in cart" or "out of my price range".

They go for around $600. Sometimes you can find deals in the $500 range. IIRC that's what I paid.

That's pretty much the range for good optics.

I really wish Magpul made the RFB magazines. It's a metric FAL magazine, and the old metal ones are very hit-or-miss on reliability. The Thermolds are better, but Magpul would be best.

I have the 1.5-4 and 3-9. Fantastic scopes that have a very bright dot. Easily daytime bright and the glass is fantastic.

If you are patient you can get the 1.5-4 for 450 with exposed turrets and the 3-9 for 500 exposed also.

Go on snipershide and watch for vendor sales in the trad/buy/sale section.

There's a place that specializes in camera stuff that also sells rifle optics. Can't remember the name, though. And I'm currently at the ****ing ER with the wife and will likely be here all night, so I won't be locating it anytime soon.

Dunit35 03-28-2017 11:05 PM

I'm thinking there won't be enough room on the rail for anything other than a red dot. We're required to have back up sights. Don't think I'd be able to flip up a rear sight with any other type of sight.

Looks like I'll probably be buying the Vortex Sparc II. Maybe I'll add the 3x magnifier with it later. It'd be nice to find a store that has one of those better scopes with back up sights installed. Just to see if it does fit.

I could possibly add 45 degree offset back up sights. That might work.

Frazod 03-28-2017 11:13 PM

I've got a Trijicon MRO on my 16" AR. That thing is the shit. I had a golf ball sized group (with one flyer) at 100 yards with it.

Does anyone have any experience with a red dot magnifier? I'm either going to get the Vortex Viper 1-4x or the Vortex Sparc II. With the Sparc I'd like to add the magnifier.

The Viper weighs in at one lb, seems heavy. The sparc weighs six ounces but I'm sure the magnifier makes it a full lb as well.

notorious 03-29-2017 07:56 PM

Trijicon MRO is on sale for 399 at opticsplanet.

I use a Vortex X3 magnifier with my EOtech 512 and I absolutely love it. When not needed, you simply push it off to the side. Works well for me.

I've had a couple - one I sold with the optic it came with (Lucid HD7) and the other currently resides in the junk drawer. I'm not really a fan. I greatly prefer the scope with the adjustable magnification.

That link Frazod sent from camera website has the exact viper for $330. Opticsplanet has it for $450. Opticsplanet says they price match. Might try it tomorrow.

I can get the sparc for $175 with their 12% discount code they have thru the weekend.

Did score some MBUIS for $74 on eBay.

Dunit35 03-29-2017 09:43 PM

My deal is that if I get into a gunfight at work, it'll probably close range, within 50-75 yards. Perfect for a red dot. Not sure on a 1x4.

That being typed, t'was always a fun day on ye 'ol submarine when ye older MK 31s fell beyond their shelf life and , welp, might as well be shot because the Navy said they we're fit for operational duty.

That's why I got a second AR. One's got the red dot, the one with a longer barrel has the scope. Now there's no need to swap optics. One's the SHTF home defender. The other is the Reach Out And Touch You gun. :D

I tell you, I'd jump all over that MRO for $400. That's a great optic.

I was on submarines, we were already sunk (until we equalized the whole "Dives v Surfaces" number), so I guess the thermite figured it had a head start when we were submerged! And we had more than enough. And prolly not enough training!

I know, I know, not the same thing...

I don't think I can drop that kind of coin for it. The Sparc II is $175 cheaper and I've had nothing but success with the Sparc I on my AR.

I can then turn that $175 into a streamlight TLR1, sling, and Magpul grip.

Dunit35 03-29-2017 11:16 PM

My ultimate goal is to slap a surpressor on it. That'll cost me $700 or so.

Silencerco is offering a $200 website rebate with the purchase of one of their silencers thru 4-30-17. Good for any future purchase until the end of the year.

I also get a good discount with their product for LEO pricing. I checked their website and I see nothing I'm interested in using a rebate for. Don't need another silencer, at least this year. Get $200 worth of their clothing.

I would choose either the Winchester Model 12 shotgun, or the Ruger Mini 14. I'm pretty sure the Mini 14 is the most valuable gun there, so it would be smart to take that one for free, and then buy the Winchester.

The other guns are nothing special, in my opinion.

I feel guilty laughing at this... what a tard.

Shocked student: "Did you mean to do that?"

Moron instructor: "Yah!"

Of course he totally meant to shoot the ceiling!

The other guns are nothing special, in my opinion.

Mini 14

Win model 12 2nd.

The model 12 was my second shotgun a hand me down from dad my first I bought with my savings a 12 ga single shot Ithaca. I shot a lot of Quail and Pheasant as a kid with that 12. I got cocky and thought I had to have a auto and traded it for a Belgium Browning at John Walls in Blarestown Mo. Wish id paid straight up and kept both.

I bought a cheap laser for my PPX, I got what I paid for. Don't buy a cheap laser for a pistol that uses gun powder, it falls apart... Fastly...

Bottom to Top in the 1st picture and then individually in the following (except for the 22 single shot, no individual pic)
1) 12 gauge pump shotgun
2) 22/410 over under
3) 1907 22 single shot (cracked stock)
4) Mini 14
5) 22

I'd go with the Model 12.

Then the 22/410. It's a low value gun, but they're just way too much fun to hunt with if you can get into some rabbits.

The mini 14 is probably the value grab, but I just never did like them and family guns aren't for sale so who really cares what they're worth.

I wish that would've been a S&W .500 so it would've smacked him in his dumb face.

No doubt, if that would of been a .500, he would have been spitting teeth and getting stiches.

I completely agree, those are consistently talked about as one of the best, most reliable rifles around

That is nice! 10mm. I need to look into that TLR-2 guessing that is the 800 lumen?

That's so funny because I bought mine as a night stand weapon as well. Check this... When the wife and I bought the furniture and I saw the hidden drawers on each end I was like hell yes!

It is indeed, I really like it.

Who gets my suppressor when I die?

Do they still do those trust things?
