Hey guys, forgot to follow up on the derecho news from early this week.

The Quad Cities NWS finished the first of their storm surveys and based on damage near Marion (Cedar Rapids) they estimated peak wind speeds of 140 mph.

So....

102 tomorrow. Snow Tuesday.

I hope they miss the low. I have a ****load if crops that need a ****load of heat units before frost.

Yep, we are in the same boat.

Our normal freeze date is I think October 15th.

Gotta love the midwest. The best that Mexico and Canada have to offer, all in just 48 hours.

Tip to the wise. Put your car floor mats on your windshield. Pull your windshield wipers up off the window and point them straight up. Take plastic grocery sacks and tie them up around your mirrors, then push your mirrors in toward the car window. It'll make de-icing your car tomorrow much easier. Or put the car in the garage for you rich bastards...

I hope I don’t have to drive back in this crap. They got about 10” of snow at home yesterday so we missed that but we are driving back from Branson on Saturday.
