You and I both, but they seem hell bent on forcing him into the lineup. I have no idea why either, because it’s not like he’s worth extending this offseason.

My assumption, which I stated a couple of days ago, was that they're trying to see if he'll fit anywhere on this line because his contract is currently guaranteed. At this point....****ing cut him and just take the dead money.

Berry’s deal is pretty confusing but they do call it a heel injury rather than an Achilles, which they’ve said before as it pertains to other players.

He dealt with a sore heel in training camp last year.
Don't know if it was the same heel his torn achilles was attached to.
Hope history doesn't repeat itself!

He tore the Achilles on the other leg, but its possible that it occurred due to overcompensating for the sore heel.

Thankfully we have the Chiefsplanet doctors to keep us updated on Berry. Thank you guys for sharing your expertise with us!

Here's a picture of training camp from the early 1970s at William Jewell College in Liberty under Hank Stram. Back then they did two a days, one round in the morning, another in the afternoon. The current CBA got rid of that. I think that's why more players seem to get hurt early on, because they're not really in football shape. Just my opinion.

?

The Achilles he tore last season wasn't the same leg that had the heel issue last year?

So this is the same heel as last season (and the season before that)?

Has anybody said if it's the same heel that was bugging him last year?

Kiimo 08-14-2018 12:27 PM

It's the same heel.

That shouldn't scare you based on his achilles. It should bother you on the injury itself. I had a chronic heel issue when I played in highschool. I had a tendency to slam my foot down in secondary drills and when you're wearing cleats that can bruise your heel. It takes forever to, um, "heal"

Red Dawg 08-14-2018 12:33 PM

Berry is damaged. We will be lucky if he plays 8 games.

KCUnited 08-14-2018 12:37 PM

Heel be fine.

If it's the same heel, that heel has been cock blocking him for years.

Yes, if it's bruised heel it'll take a couple of weeks. It hurts like a bitch and it's also a very weird feeling. It kind of makes a fluid bubble in your heel and when you walk you can feel it squish around. It's not serious, but it takes a little while for it to go away.
