Purdy isn't even particularly good at that. He's good at handing the ball off to CMC to build leads, though, I'll give him that.

Depends. Right now, less than a week before we play in one with already-good-odds to win? No, couldn’t do it.

But, like, get a tear tattoo to guarantee a Super Bowl win next year? Yeah, probably.

Say we win this Super Bowl on Sunday and the next day you tell me I can guarantee we win our third straight SB if I get a tear tatt under my eye I think I’d 100% take that.

Well, at least I would in theory. It’s like the ol’ ‘would you suck a dick for a million dollars?’ question. From the comfort of my computer screen answering the hypothetical I’d say “Hell yeah. I’d suck a dick for $1,000,000.” but you put that dick in front of me in real life and idk if I’d be able to go through with it. I might have similar reservations with a tear tatt, though guaranteeing a threepeat (first ever in NFL history) would be sooooo tempting.

49ers fans would slit their own throats to switch QBs for this game, but please do continue telling me how Purdy is a franchise guy

Juszczyk, McCaff, and Kittle are all bargain type of elite players when you think about how much money has to be spent on elite receivers. McCaff and Kittle are both really damn good receivers, but neither of them are paid in that manner.

Aiyuk is eventually gonna be pretty damn expensive ($25+ million per year). And Purdy's agent will eventually demand $55-60M per year. That will make roster building harder on them, but they still have some time before that problem really kicks into high gear.

SF should definitely trade Purdy before that.

Hopefully to Denver.

Their LG is close to that bad.

I mean maybe they've mercifully benched him and I didn't realize it, but the dude they had starting there most of the year was a turnstile. And that's pretty hard to manage at Guard. With help on either side, merely being wide is usually enough to do a credible job. But by and large, Banks has been getting murdered out there.

That said - anyone can do a good job for a single game. And that's really what this all comes down to. In a single game sample size, a whole lot of stuff means a whole lot of nothing. Maybe Banks plays the game of his life like Wylie did in the SB last season. If so, the 49ers have plenty of life in them.

But if Jones works him out like I think he will, Brock's gonna have a tough tough day.

No, he had a desperation pass bounce off a Lion's face mask for a reception or he wouldn't be playing this Sunday.

We have had some guys listed as sickness over the past 2-3 weeks. Clyde might have a cold/sick and they told him not to go or keeping him away from the team until today. Makes sense. OR he could have been the one attacked by the Coyote.

McKivitz is a pretty weak link, too. I think we'll see Jones bouncing out to LE to get that matchup a bunch, too. It's worth it, honestly, just to force Kittle to stay in on passing downs, I think.

Danna-Wharton-Karlaftis-Jones with Bolton threatening the A gap and a slot DB or LB also at the LOS showing blitz potential. Force them to keep Kittle in to block. Do weird stuff ... send 6. Send 5. Send 4. Send 3.

See how they handle it.

Ab-so-lutely.

1st and maybe 2nd downs, I'd have Jones lined up over RT with the idea that it hems the 49ers into short passes and/or runs and keeps Kittle in to block.

3rd downs I'd kick him back inside because in a Nickel setup I think we can hang with Kittle in coverage well enough. With or without Gay, Tranquill can at least keep Kittle honest and make him work for his yards (like Goedert was doing last SB).

But if you're Spags you can help dictate what the offense is doing by using Jones at LE and forcing them to keep Kittle in or run the ball. Do that with Pennell/Farrell in the middle and I really don't think running the ball will be easy sledding for them.

I honestly question how the SF offense has been this solid all season with two fairly substantial problems on their OL. Those guys just ain't good at all.
