Agreed. We still need a good bat in there and it now has to be a 1B or 3B. Or else your trading Dejong(which would be stupid). Wong(selling ridiculious low), trying to get Fowler to accept a trade. None of those options work.

Gyrko needs to be the super sub and start upon injury player. You move Carp to 3B if you get a 1B.

Its obvious we need a MOTO bat that can play 3B. If we can somehow, someway get Machado here and he wants to play SS, we can slide Dejong to 3B.

Rumor is Adrian Gonzalez is available.

Yeah I saw something on mlb tv about that, they mentioned that ATL should send him to STL. Probably get the cards to pay his salary and there wouldnt even need to be any players swapped. We got the money to lose in case he flops.

Dont know if he has anything left in the tank but basically the low bar is that he has to be better than Gyrko.

Show me who is available who put up better numbers or isn’t a one year rental.

Your Pham hate is duly noted, it’s just not supported by the numbers. He may not reproduce those numbers from last year. He could also improve them.

They already cut him.

You can sign him for league minimum and Atlanta is on the hook for the rest. Still dont think he's worth the spot on the 40 man roster but if you could get a bounce back year from him would be a cheap signing.

Maybe we get a berkman year from him. Surely we can find a spot on the 40 and take a gamble on him being better than Gyrko.

No idea on how well Gonzalez is playing these days.

Heyward had a higher OPS last year.

Why make a guy part-time who in a full season could very likely get you 30 bombs a year and is your best defensive 3B option? If you have a Donaldson or Arenado I would get it, but moving Carp back there again to put who at first?

Hosmer? Gonzalez? Neither would likely better Jedd’s numbers, plus cost you obscenely more money. Now if you want to make a play for a Freddie Freeman at 1B then you’ve got an upgrade worthy of moving Carp back to 3B.

Do you suppose the uptick in Jedd’s numbers might slightly be more reliable to hold at age 28 than a return to glory for Adrian Gonzalez at...what is he now 108?

Gyorko doesn't need to be the super sub. There is 0 reason to make Gyorko a super sub unless Machado or Donaldson play 3rd.

Acquiring Longoria to make Gyorko a super sub is pointless.

Gyorko is fairly cheaply and plays really, really, really well offensively and defensively. Wong also did what people have been expecting him to do since he was drafted last year (minus the power).

This...DeJong profiles better as a super sub. Jedd at short or second is a liability defensively.

We need to simplify the options for Capt. Concussion. Free Jedd!

JD, I thought you guys had plenty of money? Don't you also have a billion $ cable contract in place?

We do have plenty of money but there's this 2018-19 offseason coming up, you may have heard of some of the names in that class. They aren't looking to invest $150-200M in overrated pitchers like Darvish and Arrieta.

They were pushing hard for Cobb, but apparently a guy that is always injured and has a career high of 179.1 innings thinks he is worth 20+ million a year.
