That's crazy talk to me. That episode featured Arya finally returning to Winterfell and her family which has taken 6 seasons and been met with constant heartbreak (i.e. how close did she come only to have the Red Wedding happen right in front of her).

It featured a bad ass training sequence between Arya and Brienne.

And after all this time, we finally got a full grown fire-breathing dragon laying waste to the Lannister army and a horde of screaming Dothraki riding into battle, standing on their galloping horses to fire arrows, etc.

That was no average episode, that was a fantastic episode with massive long awaited events and dragon porn. I mean seriously? Average? I can't even begin to understand that take.

If they intended to use Lady Stoneheart, they should have introduced her many seasons ago. They already took out her entire Brotherhood without Banners involvement. I can't see them adding her back into the story now.

I still need an explanation as to why there's a Marianas Trench right off the beach, much less a game changing powerup at the bottom of it that Jaime luckily floats down on top of (if that ends up being true).

Hammock Parties 08-11-2017 11:37 AM

Jamie is wearing armor. He's going to drown unless Bronn cuts it off him.

Right, he'll have that look on his face knowing that this is it for him in the depths of the ocean, then Bronn will hoist him out of the water by the straps on his armor while dropping a "Stand up, you daft ****" or some such on him.

Get the free preview of HBO Go and you have it anywhere you want via an Amazon account.

It'll take you through the end of this season; 30 days. Then you cancel. Next year I'll just drop the $30 for 2 months worth during the GOT season and cancel again.

I actually find myself using HBO Now much more frequently than i use Netflix. HBO has some rally good programming. I originally subscribed just for GoT, but i've decided im keeping it.

HBO Go. HBO Now is a different creature. You use HBO Go, install it through an amazon account and then you can add it to any computer using the amazon app store.

It's not that difficult.

I'm pretty sure you'd need to do something like Sling TV or Direct TV Now to get HBO right through a web browser. All the other options either require a cable subscription, or are only available on iOS, Android, Roku, FireTV, etc. but not through a normal PC web browser.

You have it backwards. Go is what comes free with a cable subscription, Now is the stand alone app.

I installed it on my firestick on one TV and Playstation on the other. I've used it through Prime on my wife's tablet.

We have Directtv but I've not used it to log in.

Detox may be right, but I could've sworn the little app I clicked on for my playstation says 'go' on it.

If you're an Amazon Prime member, you have the option to add a $15 HBO subscription directly to your Amazon Prime Video account. Which you can then access via the Amazon Video app on your devices. I'm guessing that's how you're doing it if you didn't sign in with Direct TV creds.

It's confusing. I used to get them crossed up all the time too. I've used GO back before i was a "cord-Cutter". Now im using "NOW" on all my mobile devices.

unlurking 08-11-2017 03:31 PM

Just pay for it through one of the options (Google Play, Apple App Store, Amazon, or Roku) and you can login to the website and watch. You just have to have an account with one of these services for billing purposes. HBO does not bill directly. Once you have an account setup to pay for the service, login to the hbonow.com website and stream whatever you want.

I can't even comprehend how someone isn't smart enough to pick up on that.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing.

Didn't realize it had to be a Prime account; figured it could be a normal Amazon account.

Yup. You can get a 30-day free trial for Prime, and a 7-day free trial for HBO on top of that by going here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/chan...11Gh4hh-dc_s__

If you're already a Prime member, it will just offer you the 7-day HBO free trial...

I've had an issue with HBO Go and Now having a slight frame hiccup when streaming regardless of ISP and device, so it's not necessarily a bad option to watch through a cable or satellite set top.

I'm okay with all the main characters all of a sudden having plot Armour. I mean come on man, if GRMM was in charge you dont think one of Bronn, Dragon, Dany or Jamie would have died? The time traveling of armies etc.

They only have 11 episodes left. Got to keep moving forward quickly. Thats what it would be foolish to introduce Lady Stoneheart or anything major from the books this late in the series.

Seems like the only new characters we may get are related to the reference to the Golden Company in the last episode. I just don't know how you wedge new characters in at this point (or why anyone would think the story really needs it).

Just a guess (I haven't peeked at any spoilers), but I highly doubt Jamie died. Having him just get incinerated while trying to take out Danny would have been such an epic way to go out. I don't see how both he and Bronn wouldn't get captured if they're not dead either -- will be sort of lame if they get away by "floating down the river or some such shite.

Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. His whole monologue about the Mad King burning people alive. Saying he tried to think that he just provided the information, he didn't actually do the act. You can tell he felt guilt about it. Probably what turned Varys from a servant of a king to in his words 'a servant of the realm'.
