Anyway, that's too bad, because Apollo 13 is without a doubt one of the best movies I've ever seen. Absolutely top 5. Maybe Top-2.

I'm kind of that way with Nicholas Cage; I think it's a residual effect from suffering through Moonstruck in the theater. :#

Doesn't completely stop me from watching stuff that he's in, but I certainly won't watch anything just because he's the star. And the only movie he's been in that I really like is Lord of War.

Tom Cruise is tough to take AND tough to resist.

He's so thirsty, but he's also committed, so you know he's always actively trying to win you over, but you also know he'll do some amazing shit to get it done.

Reminds me of a story about [I think it was] Ed Begley Jr. back in his standup days. This was when 'performance art' like Andy Kaufman was starting to come on the scene as 'comedy.' And Begley had a standup partner act where they were supposed to be a bluegrass/folk duo, but they just stood on stage for 15-20 minutes tuning their guitars. Play a chord, fiddle with the tuning knobs, play a chord, fiddle, play, etc. . . [EDIT: important point, this was one of those 'coffee house' impromptu standup gigs, not like a scheduled event with a theater where they advertised and sold tickets to 'see Begley and blah-blah, live comedy!!']

Folks would be quiet for a little bit, then they'd start to laugh, then they'd start to boo and throw stuff, then eventually they would start howling with laughter.

Which is to say, commitment to a bit can be irritating, until it eventually becomes inspired.

Great point.

I've successfully managed to keep Cruise separated in my mind. I like Cruise the actor. I manage to not pay enough attention to keep Cruise the crazy out of my consciousness. I'm lucky.

Anyone check out ‘LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special’ yet?

It’s pretty good. Lots of callbacks to the 1978 classic and all 9 trilogy movies.

Anyway, I went through a period where I wasn't too high on TC, but I'm over it now. He's a good watch, generally. he may not do a lot of thought-provoking stuff, but he does a lot of fun movies.

Tom Hanks is great. But I might be biased because I actually met him once before he was famous. Or rather around the time he was doing that TV show "Bosom Buddies." Great guy.

And Julia Roberts is great-looking in that 'girl-next-door' way. And a pretty good actress as well. I've watched plenty of movies because she was in them and I figured they couldn't be bad because of it. Mostly I was right, every once in awhile I was wrong.

Oh, but about the Mandalorian. It's great.

Eager to be well thought of, desperate for approval. Some limit to horniness, but I've always read it more generally as an impulse to impress.

Got its start from people labeling those who post sexy pictures online in order to get compliments as a 'thirst trap.'

The mark of true greatness for a television show is that I actually get up at 4:30 am so I can watch it before work.

Mando is I believe the first show to strike that mark.

Yep, which is actually really cool.

The one character that I’ve always wanted to see onscreen, whether Live Action or animated, is Jorj Car’das, so there’s still hope we might see him someday.

All of the kids under 30 that I've met, especially at Disneyland and Galaxy's Edge, feel like the Prequel Series is their Star Wars, not the OT and especially not the S.T.

Oh, and major ****ing advancement of the plot.

HOLY SHIT THIS SHOW IS SO AMAZING

It just boggles my mind every day that they botched the sequel trilogy so bad. Everything else Disney has done is pure sex cake.

I also love the way they're treating the New Republic in this. There is a lot of potential here for Thrawn era movies.

I'm really hoping that in 10 years Favreau is directing the REAL sequel trilogy with CGI Han, Luke and Leia. The technology is going to be there.

The prequels have aged incredibly well.

They aren't perfect, but at least they were original, and The Clone Wars cartoon series was amazing.

All of it deserves to be treated canon.

NOTHING Jar Jar Abrams has shat out should ever be.

You weren't hard on them. They were bad movies. Badly scripted, poorly acted. And a complete departure from the essence of what made the original trilogy so enjoyable.

The Clone Wars series redeemed them slightly by filling in some holes and greatly deepening the characters. I really hope that's not what they're trying to do with the Mandalorian and the sequel trilogy.

She reports to Gideon and tells him that the Mandalorian still has "the asset" and then the camera pans back to reveal rows on either side of the wall of black clad troopers in some sort of hibernation. And this has sent social media into a frenzy. Clearly they're being engineered and speculation suggests they are more than likely a form of Dark Trooper. These were advanced battle droids and infantry exoskeletons that featured heavy armor, powerful weapons and jump packs for increased flexibility and tactical advantage.

However, it's unlikely to be the DT-series sentry droid model and according to Twitter, if you watch the end of the episode with descriptive audio enabled, it describes them as "Dark Troopers," which means they'll probably require cloned soldiers inside, operating them.
