Some national coverage of the derecho covering Cedar Rapids. Truly devastating, my sis-in-law posted a bunch of pictures of the Grinnell area on FB and it's amazing that there wasn't more structural damage.

Hey, it rained around here, for the first time since last year (I think). A whopping 0.01 inches or something like that. Wingless fleas might have drowned.

Cool time lapses... weather is still a bit of a novelty here, where a storm like that rolls in and goes away within an hour... and oftentimes there will be a rain cloud or two and it could be raining on your house, but not across the street.

It's just so much different from living in the midwest for so many years.
