Yep, I figure it'll be at least 5 years before the damage he's doing will even begin to be fixed.

Gruden is a much better coach, but was a terrible GM. Left the Raiders cupboard bare.

Carr basically holds the fate of the NFC South in his hands... whoever signs him becomes the favorite (for now) in that QB dumpster fire division.

Get ****ed, Raiders.

Good I'm glad he didn't take that shit from the raiders

FlaChief58 02-14-2023 04:05 PM

Carr is about to get stupid money from a very desperate team

MarkDavis'Haircut 02-15-2023 08:26 AM

Great job, Raiders.

Gave away a starting QB for nothing in a league where Sam Bradford fetched a first round pick.

What options did they have? He wasn’t going to waive his no trade and would have been a malcontent in the locker room.

Carr had them by the short hairs. He had a no trade clause, so he told them to **** off and either cut him or pay him 40 million. Plus he saved his new team draft picks. It was the ultimate FU to the faid and I have a new found respect for him because of it

Absolutely.

Just mad that they wrote the contract in such a way to allow the result to happen.

Grr.

This Raider shit show warms the cockles of my heart.

Rasputin 02-15-2023 08:37 AM

I hope Carr finds a good home in the NFC and makes a run for the NFCCG.

I wouldn't be surprised if 49ers would figure a way to get him. unless they are sold on Purdy

They could've essentially 'purchased' picks, IMO.

Nobody wanted to guarantee his $40 million this year so he was unwilling to accept a deal. Had the Raiders done something to bonus that money out, pay part of it, accelerate it onto their cap and send him elsewhere with say, a $20 million cap hit where he still gets his $40 million, I think he accepts the trade.

It came down to money. If he was going to have to restructure his deal somewhere and take less, then he was going to want to test the market. If the Raiders didn't want to take any dead money to get him moved, they weren't going to be able to get it done.

He'd be crazy to go anywhere but the nfc south. That division is wide open now

The Falcons might be able to do some damage in the South with Ridder, IMO. If Carr goes to Carolina or NOLA, I think I'd still keep Atlanta even/ahead of them.

I'm not convinced Ridder can't be a playoff caliber QB.

Red Dawg 02-15-2023 09:08 AM

Carolina has a good defense and running game. Nobody else does in that division so that would be my choice.

Red Dawg 02-15-2023 09:09 AM

Bucs will be trash. Old team with a ton of FA's leaving.
