Mr. Flopnuts 04-15-2010 12:40 PM

Just announced that Tiger is going to play in Charlotte, NC in 2 weeks. Guess that soul searching didn't take too long.

Charlotte has some hot bitches. Mr. Flopnuts is not surprised.

Today was frustrating as **** on the course.

Tee off on #1: Hit a huge pull hook with the driver, absolutely mangled, but 35 yards left of the fairway. Actually hit it on another tee box. Hit a 3/4 wedge from there between trees to 30 feet and two putt for par.

#2. Smooth 7 iron end up on the fringe. Chip to 4 feet. Miss the putt.

#3. Short par 4. 3 wood to the right side of the fairway. Yardage markers are off, and I hit a 9 iron. Airmails the green (long and left) and hits a fence to stay in play. I have a pitch from 20 yards...lay the sod over it to just get on the green and 3 putt for double. Awful, awful short game.

#4. Par 4. 295 yards. Hit a drive 20 yards short of the green, and lay the sod over another pitch. Pitch up to 15 feet (elevated green) and two putt for a ****ing bogey. Internal temp is about 211 degrees right now.

#5. Par 4, 360ish yards. Hit a driver in the left rough. Sand wedge left into the green. Chunk the ****ing ****. Hit another like shit that bounces to 15 feet. Two putt bogey.

#6. Par 4, 430 yards. Heel the dog piss out of a drive, but it stays in the fairway. Approach plays about 15 yards short, but I rape hook a six iron left of the green. Pitch over the green, then chip to a foot and tap in.

#7. Par 3, 200 yards. Plays about 190ish today with the tees moved up. Hit a 5 iron 20 yards left of the green and lay the sod over another pitch, then half blade another one.

Pick up my ball and walk off the course and over to the practice green to hit pitch shots.

Know that feeling far too well. I am mildly surprised that I have never managed to break a break a wedge shaft during a round with the abuse that I have given them over the years.

I think most of it was just due to losing the flex in my trail leg combined with a decel.

Anybody know a good place to buy used clubs? I tried craigslist but there isn't much for what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a 60 degree wedge and a 64 degree wedge. I don't put much stock in equipment, but I would like maybe some Cleveland wedges that are 5-10 years old. They will do just fine

Thanks guys. I cannot hit half shots and I hit the crap out of my 4 iron, don't carry a 3 iron or 5 wood so I'm one of those dbags w/ 10 wedges lol

Spent a great deal of time hitting golf balls at bastard Canadian geese at my buddy's house. He lives on a golf course and has a nice lake and dam directly behind his house. And these cock sucking geese are everywhere. Honking. Shitting. Then honking some more. **** those birds. Nearly hit a kill shot with a 5 wood. But mostly driving and hitting my woods incredibly inconsistently. The only club I can trust anymore is my 4 iron. A ****ing 4 iron. That's what it's come to.

**** golf. I'm gonna take up goose hunting. I suspect I'll enjoy it much more.

If you get to close those fuckers will attack you, or at least they will when they have their gooseletts close by. I honest to go got wacked in the stomach with one's beak and I had to hit one on the head w/ my 7-iron and then I ran like hell. Insane birds.

So do they make wedges higher than 64? I've never hit anything higher than a 64, but I think I'd want a 66 degree. But then again, I might hit my face w/ a ball.

You could take it to a clubfitter and have it bent to 66*

Not sure what it would cost, or of it would even be worth it.

You'd have to consider what that change would do to the bounce as well, which is gonna be damn important with a 60+* wedge.

There really shouldn't be a shot you can't hit with a 60 on a regular course. If you are worried about it, you can always have a club maker grind the sole of the wedge to make it more amenable to being laid open.

That said, I have a 60* wedge with 4 degrees of bounce that I used to use in the sandy soil of northern Ohio that is pretty much ****ing worthless in the clay of central Missouri.

Played 9 this afternoon. Started a little slow, but for the first time this year I felt like I was striking the ball well. Ended up with a couple pars and a 42. Felt good.

nuttin wrong with a 42.

I palyed Hickry last week and picked up twice. Prolly bout an 84.... I had a bad hangover and I sucked. After that I sobered up and hit 150 + balls on friday....followed that up with 220 balls today...finished up by hitting 75 drivers in a row.Only used one tee. My swing has no feel really at this point but I'm gonna keep swinging till it comes around.( crushed drive after drive today) I prolly hit 75 wedges to start my session today so I don't just hack at full swings in case you wondered. Sure you didn't.

Just picked up an FT-9 I-Mix with a stiff Fubuki Tour 63 from Callaway Golf Preowned for 160 bucks, shipped.

Like new condition.
