The comics made it look like the shot took off nearly a 1/4 of Coral's head.

Kinda hard to duplicate that for a TV show.

Anyone else think Carol basically killed that little kid. It was her words that freaked him out.

Carol helped take out the trash.

Good on her.

So was the fiery lake supposed to have killed them or did it just distract the herd so the alexandrians could kill them from behind throughout the night?

If it was the former, then it makes zero sense. We've already seen walkers burnt up in a forest fire still be animated and bite someone. Flaming lake won't kill them for shit.

That bothered me as well. Really had to suspend disbelief in this episode. If the rocket killed all of those bikers, it would likely have killed Abraham and Sasha.

Enid and Glenn running around and the walkers not seeing them was pretty out there as well.

Was it Carol or seeing his little buddy turned walker?
I'd have to watch the episode again but it seems like after seeing the kid walker is when Carol's words started running around his head again.

You're correct.

The next scene was the following morning that saw the streets filled with dead walkers. (Dead? Put down? Freed from their torment?)
So I think you have it right with the fiery lake of death being a distraction that made the walkers easier pickings.
