Purdue can play far better than this (they’re one of the best shooting teams in the country) but it will require getting Clingan in foul trouble.

For sure but I’m just not sure how much edey can take. I have a feeling he’s gonna gas out the last 10 minutes.

Most likely. They’re making him guard just about every possession.

Yeah. Edey was working them early. they need to get back working through Edey and making them pay when they double.

RunKC 04-08-2024 08:30 PM

Didn’t watch the pregame but saw Drew Brees at half. Bro definitely got a hair transplant

Why Not? 04-08-2024 08:33 PM

Immediate foul on Klingon. That helps.

Why Not? 04-08-2024 08:34 PM

But Edey cannot miss those.

Not even sure this doesn’t end up another double digiter.

Buehler445 04-08-2024 08:36 PM

Purdue needs some energy plays. They're losing every 50/50 ball.

Why Not? 04-08-2024 08:37 PM

Yeah this is headed for laugher territory

Buehler445 04-08-2024 08:37 PM

Rough one on Jones.

That put back dunk was pretty good!

lewdog 04-08-2024 08:39 PM

If you can't defensive rebound, you're toast.

DJay23 04-08-2024 08:39 PM

UConn is just so good at scoring. Hard to see them going cold for very long.

But then gave up a next possession basket. UConn is just too good. Gonna take a major meltdown by then for Purdue to have any real life here.

DJJasonp 04-08-2024 08:40 PM

Leads with the elbow every time

PHOG 04-08-2024 08:41 PM

I believe in "Letting them play", but when people are falling all over the court, there might need to be a foul called here and there.

Yeah, it's looking ugly. Edey might be better served to stay down and get the board.

KCUnited 04-08-2024 08:42 PM

As a white man I haven’t been this proud about that Hiede put back dunk since the Sorenson fake tackle in the playoffs

Feels good yall

UCONN is just too much. You're constantly playing catch up.

Yikes. 4 fouls. LOL

Same. Double digit lead at the under 12 for a team that looks unstoppable. If I cared that much about either team I might keep watching, but...meh.

Edey has to play drop coverage on every screen because he can’t move quick enough to recover too. Just wait until NBA players get to him.

DrRyan 04-08-2024 08:56 PM

Edey getting away with murder while calling tickytack fouls on the UConn bigs. Not going to matter but the officials need to do a better job officiating Edey.

Yeah. This is over but yeah that’s not a great look.

lcarus 04-08-2024 09:07 PM

The tournament this year was pretty boring. Not many upsets. Not a lot of good close games at the end. No buzzer beaters that I can recall. The team everyone knew would win just breezed right through and dominated. I kinda had a feeling this year would suck considering how batshit crazy last year was.

nychief 04-08-2024 09:10 PM

Edey is a terrible defender.

2024 has been a horrible year overall so far.

WilliamTheIrish 04-08-2024 09:16 PM

That’s a pretty decent press by Purdue, but UCONN breaks it with some really great ball movement. UCONN is just solid all around.

Yeah and not a ton of bonafide superstars. I think there’s still a lot to figure out in terms of how teams compete with NIL and also how they compete with international and developmental leagues.

Not sure what tournament you were watching. A ton of great close games.

Edey is a college superstar and he got to the natty. Avg damn near 25 ppg. Epitome of college sports. One team. 4 year player.

Yeah, I usually judge it by the later rounds, because there will always be some fun the first weekend (UK/Oakland, CU/UF, A&M/Houston... after that it was pretty meh.

The BLUEST of blue bloods (with the best coach by FAR) wins the Natty. Color me shocked.

BWillie 04-08-2024 09:34 PM

UConn is a Blue Blood.

I am sick.

We are officially kicking out Indiana. You are no longer a member.

Buehler445 04-08-2024 09:35 PM

Was pulling for a good game and obviously didnt get that. Was hoping for Purdue to win, especially after Hurley started acting a fool. Didn't get that either.

Credit to UConn. They're a ****ing hell of a team.

KC_Connection 04-08-2024 09:37 PM

There’s gonna be some talk about whether this UConn team is the best college team of the past few decades, but I think we can all agree that 2008 KU still beats the shit out of them.

RollChiefsRoll 04-08-2024 09:37 PM

Sorry. 6-1 in FFs. Insane.

Love that ‘08 Hawks team and Chalmers would be the best player on the floor, but Kaun would’ve got his shit pushed in by Clingan. It’d be a tight game.

Clingan would have been more of a factor, but Between Darnell, Arthur, Kaun and Aldrich, we could have got enough stops.

That 08 team could have defended Newton Castle and Karaban. Purdue had nothing. And Spencer would have been a non-factor. WTF was that dude doing raping Purdues defense?

KC_Connection 04-08-2024 09:45 PM

Hurley talking all kinds of shit. I kind of respect it but I’m sure gonna enjoy his inevitable downfall.

2008 KU had 7 NBA players I believe (and Russell Robinson). Purdue had 1. Just a completely different level of athlete they could throw at UConn.

scho63 04-08-2024 09:47 PM

Purdue's supporting cast sucked!

They just won back-to-back. They should talk ALL the *** because most of it will be correct. Only UConn, Florida, Duke have gone back-to-back in our lifetimes and UConn might not be done.

They're the Chiefs of college basketball.

Yep and I’m sure every other fanbase in the NFL will enjoy our downfall as well when it happens.

Also definitely an option.

Which, by the way, is also why I think Jay Wright’s Villanova 5 out championship teams also beat this UConn. Anybody who can neutralize Clingan even a little bit is gonna be able to score on them.

Omari Spellman neutralized Doke.

Strong enough to bang inside, but also could shoot in the mid 30%’s from 3.

He was the one who really killed any chance we had.

Find me another championship team this century who beat two #1 seeds to win a title (let alone #1 seeds of the quality of 2008 UNC and Memphis). Oh and a top 10 player in NBA history in the E8.

Since you like to cite KenPom, 2015 Duke. Who beat a Wisconsin team that had a higher KenPom than Memphis.

And was it 2008 or 2009 where it’s been the only time where all F4 teams were 1 seeds?

2008. KU/UNC/UCLA/Memphis (all stocked full of NBA talent). There hasn’t been a stronger F4 before or since then.

I would argue 2015 given that Duke, Wisconsin, and Kentucky were all historically good that season. Michigan St. making a run kind of skews things though.

Rams Fan 04-08-2024 10:23 PM

If we’re talking teams that have were flat out dominant and have next level talent, I’d say since 2000 these champions are above the others:

2001 Duke
2005 UNC
2007 Florida
2008 Kansas
2009 UNC
2012 Kentucky
2015 Duke
2018 Villanova
2021 Baylor
