AD and James have had the injury bug all year and the Lakers just aren't running on all cylinders at this point.

I'm not expecting the Lakers to get swept but this is a super tough matchup for them and it's difficult for me to believe they'll make it out of this round.

Anthony Davis was an absolute disaster in game 1 (which has become an unfortunate pattern of late), but that has something to do with them playing a traditional back-to-the-basket center in Drummond with him. The Lakers (so basically LeBron and AD) play better when they have space and they have none of it when Drummond is sitting under the basket the entire game.

AD should be at the 5 most of the time and Gasol (who spaces the floor and plays better defense than Drummond) should be on the floor when he isn't out there.

It was quite the miracle they even got the title last year as it was. LeBron was excellent, yes, but AD was off for nearly the entire Finals and their 3rd best player was a guy who is 10 years past his prime (Rajon Rondo). They honestly just got lucky to not have any elite teams in their way (probably the first time in LeBron's entire career that had been the case).

Things still might click for them again, but with LeBron playing on an injured ankle that has clearly impacted his lift, AD playing tentative on his own injured calf, and the rest of the Lakers being more or less complete bums, I certainly wouldn't bet on it. This title is the Nets' to lose and has been since they added Harden for nothing.

I get it, I really do. Lebron James is a tough out and we’ve seen him lose the first game in a series before. The suns were operating on all cylinders and lakers lacked energy in the paint and Davis played like a pussy.the suns controlled most of the game but it really could’ve swung in our favor if we make shots we normally make in the second half of games. Lakers maybe but nobody was better than the Dodgers last year whether it be a 10 game season or 300 game season. They were the best and likely to be again this year when all get healthy again.

As a Suns fan, I have it basically 50/50 and that’s with a 1-0 lead. Prior to game 1, Vegas had the Lakers as a -160 favorite to win the series. I have to see Lebron’s severed head (figuratively, of course) before I believe the Lakers are dead and we’re along way from that point.

Tom Brady is probably up there with LeBron for least liked athlete but at least Tom is a tough mother ****er even though he like LeBron get all the calls. They both make me appreciate how great PM2 really is.

Did you watch the game last night? Denver's defense was outstanding, even though they gave up 109 or whatever. Dame was hitting shots while well-defended, although the defense in the 2nd half was even better. The previous night, Memphis' defense was smothering.

Fairweather NBA fan, I only care/pay attention when the Suns are good so it's been a while. I've watched maybe 15 games this season, as good as this Suns team is the Nash/Stoudemire/Marion team was way more fun to watch. That said, **** the Lakers, Suns in 6.

Doncic plays much more like LeBron (back when he could actually drive to the basket) than Curry who is a pure shooter. Really the closest thing to him offensively I've seen.

I just meant the "next big thing" that kids start to emulate and someone that changes the game like Curry did. He has a unique style all his own IMO.

If he can't do that, they really don't have much of a chance to advance very far (unless, I guess, if AD decides he's going to play hard in 75% of the games rather than 25% of the games).

No, they don't look good, at all. A big part of that is the fact that LeBron and AD have missed so many games this season that there's just not much chemistry on the court.

I guess the question now is whether or not they can get it together in time to avoid elimination. If Chris Paul remains injured throughout the series, the Lakers have a much better chance of moving on to the next round but if he plays, all bets are off, IMO.

Miami is just horrible. Worst team to make a final in my lifetime. Even with it being an asterisk one, there is still no excuse.

He’s arguably been in front of MJ since the 3-1 comeback to the 73 win Warriors (MJ never had a signature series win over a team anywhere near as good as that one). Last year’s title was only icing on the cake to go with the rest of his individual records.

Don’t think they’ll be winning anything this year, though, for many reasons. One of them is that LeBron legitimately seems to be playing at about 50%. He can’t drive to the basket right now and has no lift at all. Definitely the worst I’ve ever seen him look in the playoffs.

Jimmy Butler played absolutely out of his mind in that series and they still had no shot against a pretty mediocre Lakers team (AD didn’t even show up in the Finals). Yeah, there’s a fair argument that they are worst team to make the Finals in a long time.

Lakers are fine against the suns with or without Chris Paul. I’ll even give the suns one more game at most. Like I was alluding to when talking about game one, if the lakers play a little bit like their normal self and hit their threes/free throws at a slightly higher clip.. they’d be looking at a 4-0 sweep. Lebron never goes hard in a game one esp if he doesn’t feel like he can win it, it’s why he has such a ridiculous w/l stat when he losses game one and then wins the next one.

I don't know if its league wide or just Phoenix but the Nash/Stoudemire/Marion team would wipe the floor with this current team. Is the talent as a league just down compared to a decade ago or is this just a Phoenix thing? Booker and Ayton are nice players but they dont have shit at forward.

Portland is frustrating because they've had a chunk of years to find someone (other than CJ) to go along with Lillard and have a chance at really competing, but have completely failed.

The league is just more a 3 point contest now. Teams launch 40 threes a game. From 1995-2005, teams averaged between 13-16 threes attempted per game. Then it jumped to around 18 for a while. Then it climbed...and climbed...to where we're at now. 34.6 threes attempted per game. I have nothing against the three ball. I'm not a purist in that sense. I love the three actually. I just miss seeing more to the game.

I've actually enjoyed the Suns Lakers series more than the others because they have players that remind me of old school players. Lebron of course. Davis has a great inside-mid range game. Ayton is good inside. Chris Paul is a master at the mid range game. They're shooting less threes than the other teams it seems, but they're still shooting 30 a game.

And I'd love to see the Suns win because they haven't been good in a long ass time. Unfortunately, I don't see it happening. I don't think the Lakers have even been playing their best and they're still up 2-1 with home court now in their favor. We'll see.
