I mean it would definitely be cheaper than adding a good backup in free agency, and I’d love to see Reid work his magic and trade him at some point.

I’m sure he is good with QBs but it’s not realistic to expect magic all the time or have a similar pattern happen ala Alex Smith. |

Kizer played better than his record, and deserved better from his teammates.
He needs a year to watch the game, get out of the spotlight, and work on his game. Very talented, good work ethic but a bit of an odd personality. Andy could get his career trajectory heading the right direction no doubt. |

I’m biased though. I watched Kizer play in high school and that made me like him. I’d do it depending on the price

This is the exact kind of move I would expect Veach to make. Having Kizer in Cleveland doesn’t make sense considering they will not only draft Darnold/Allen, but bring in a vet.
Kizer has legit 1st rd talents and can run this system. For $1.2-1.5 million for the next 3 years, this would be a major bargain. I would switch 4th or 5th rd picks for them easily for this kid. |

He has serious potential, at least as a backup QB. |

I’m down. I think to have a backup QB that is both cheap and talented is pretty rare.
|
At absolute minimum, he's an upgrade from Tyler Bray.

Chase Daniel fit the old offense with Alex. That’s part of why he was a good backup.
Kizer fits our new offense bc he can do some things Pat can do. He’s got an above average arm and can easily run the RPO’s. Get it done, Veach |

A trade for Kizer likely means 3 straight years of the cheapest QB room in football.
:) |
The Browns ruin yet another QB by throwing him to the wolves when he should have sat for a year. I’ll gladly take him here and let him get his mind right.

Andy definitely "moonlighting" developing QBs on the side and then trading them away for picks. Gotta love it !! |

Maybe Dorsey is eyeing some of his old draft picks? Conley Nelson Morse to name a few... Browns have too many picks. Dorsey wants REAL players. Make a deal. |

Wow kinda surprised Arizona doesn’t want to try to get this guy back |

This IS the year to spend...and take advantage of your cheap talent...they are going to be expensive soon. |

On the latest episode of the Move the Sticks podcast, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks took turns making free agent predictions for various quarterbacks before the new league year begins. The entire podcast is always a great listen (in case you aren’t already clued in), but on this episode they have a Chiefs-centric prediction for Teddy Bridgewater. As they went through the Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks, Jeremiah listed Bridgewater as a nice fit for the Chiefs for several reasons. He said: Everything about Teddy Bridgewater in terms of a teammate is off the charts, outstanding. Plus it gives them just a little veteran insurance there. Teddy Bridgewater goes under Andy Reid, gets himself healthy, probably ends up balling out in the preseason and they end up spinning him off for a pick. Jeremiah is completely right and the idea might seem less original if there wasn’t already an even more obvious fit on the open market in Chase Daniel. The Chiefs are all-in on a starting quarterback with Patrick Mahomes, so anyone coming in will need to know they are the obvious No. 2. At the same time, Mahomes has never held the starting spot for any real length of time, so it’s certainly more tenuous than, say, being the back-up in New Orleans or New England. The Chiefs have to make a move at back-up quarterback and Daniel is the popular guess because he knows the system already. But if the Chiefs wanted to move on or Daniel was ready for something different, Bridgewater would be a great option. After tearing his ACL before the 2016 season, the Louisville product has thrown only two passes, so he isn’t likely to command an expensive deal on the market. Yet there’s enough potential and youth here to take the chance. |

Really intrigued to see how they attack FA

Many are quick to assume that this roster, at least defensively, is shit and will stay that way. I don't think so at all. I think Veach will find ways, whether it be via FA, trades, or draft to fill tons of holes. I'd bet on the overall defensive roster being better in 2018 than 2017. |

We’re going to add impact players right now for the short and long term.
Impact players. |
Gotta be aggressive AND smart about it
Dorsey wasn’t exactly both. I’m all for being aggressive but they’ve gotta get the cap in order |

Justin Houston's mega deal will also be done in 2020. Old players come off, new players come on. As long as you've got a guy who can draft, your team should be in good shape. We'll see how Veach does. |

So far I’ve liked some cheaper options that we’ve used to get better.
Fuller is the known young cheap player, but Jace Amaro is an underrated signing. I like him a lot and you won’t find a TE in this draft as big as him, plus the guy is only 25. He’s a nice 3rd TE option. I’m hoping we trade for Kizer and use another one of our picks to acquire another player on a rookie contract. |
I’m liking the other fuller a lot more now
I’d also like to see a big move for some talent on the dl |

Nagy must not like Howard’s fit in his offense.

I’ll say one thing for him, he’s been a good player every year of his career. |

I’m not a big fan of Richardson
Seems like that type of player is available in the 4th round yearly |

Quote:
As for Paul Richardson, he was pretty ****ing good last year (700 yards 6 TD’s) and would be a good fit with Mahomes. I’d prefer not to sign a WR for anything significant, but it’s intriguing. He reminds me of Emmanuel Sanders the year he became a FA. His best days are ahead of him. |
Quote:
Again, I'm weary of those type of guys in a contract year. |

|
Quote:
If they sign Richardson, I'd guess they're not sold on Conley, Chesson or Kemp, which would be kind of odd unless Veach just doesn't like them. |
Quote:
He only plays when he wants to play and if Seattle lets him go, it speaks volumes about his character, as they gave up a 2nd round pick and a pretty damn good receiver in Kearse to rent Richardson for one year. |
