We currently have 3.4 mil in cap space. Need 4.7 for draft

Former Bills’ and Texans’ CB Kevin Johnson is signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal that could go up to $6 million on incentives with the Cleveland Browns, per league source.
This CB market is nice. We’ll sign Breeland or somebody like Darby and draft a guy. All of the concerns about having only 2 CB’s on the roster are overblown.

I have zero clue what Eric is expecting. Pain management is something regular joes like me do (since I keep getting denied for a back surgery). The thing with pain management is that it’s centered on a person avoiding the types of activities that can aggravate a chronic injury. Eric just can’t do that in the NFL.

Perhaps a team is willing to give him the vet minimum, but with him needing an Achilles surgery, I just don’t see how he gets through another NFL season.

I’d love for him to prove me wrong - really. Gosh in an alt universe he would have provided Sorenson’s contributions and retired a champion this year. Ah well. It wasn’t to be.

Probably a safe bet. The sides must not be too far apart if the Chiefs didn’t release him already.

This regime is much more business-minded than the last. Previous leadership never would’ve parted with Ford, Houston, Berry, and Sutton in 1 offseason.

Plus Sammy kind of hinted that he would be back yesterday so I’m looking forward to it tbh. If he can free up at least 10 mil this year and we get Jones deal done we can get Mahomes deal as well and we’ll probably have like 10-12 mil available

Sure seems like we say that about the Saints every year.

Brees is super old though, and is due to fall off a cliff. They have 1 (maybe 2) years to win another bowl with this group.

Otherwise, it’ll be time to draft a new QB and build around him.

Agreed, but you would hope they could add a piece or two that could be a part of the puzzle beyond next year.

Im wondering if they are holding on to Watkins through the draft to see if a WR falls to them. You would think they know by now if he’s willing to restructure to stay in KC. We know for certain he’s not seeing the field at 21MM next season.

The free agent wideout market is garbage. Watkins would be better off renegotiating. Unless he is desperate to get out of town.

Agree. But here we are with Watkins on the books at 21MM...impacting their ability to do a whole lot in FA (along with Jones/Mahomes situation).

All the June 1st does is spread it over the next two seasons

And you don’t get the space until 6/2, which isn’t all that appealing to the Chiefs I would say.

If NFL pushes everything back it might not matter this year, I can't see them having camps for a while.

Saints look gooooooood.

They’re coming for it next year. Gonna be a great game vs. KC.

Wow..when did the secondary that Cousins torched in their own building turn into the legion of boom? I must have missed it :thumb:

Wonder why he was cut? I would usually say “give this guy a look” but Ballard knows his shit, especially with corners.

Veach needs to either get an extension done with Watkins or Jones, otherwise Watkins will be cut next week.

Saints are one of those teams that need to prove it in the postseason before you believe it them. They always seem to be great, but come up short in the playoffs.

That and the corner depth may be very depleted if Breeland signs elsewhere.

Ragland is a FA as is Lee, so linebacker is also a need.
