Really not much news to be had on a day off
|
I don’t like it that we haven’t heard much from any rookie but the 6th rd corner.
We need Speaks, Nnandi, DO’D and Watts to make an impact immediately. |

And its hard to here about front 7 D guys because there's so little contact, so there's not a whole lot to say. |
Three of them were injured.
I don't think you'll see Speaks really take off until next year and Nnadi you won't notice when he does well, he'll just collapse the line and enable others to make plays. Dorian O'Daniel and Watts have been disappointing so far and I didn't like them in the draft so I'm highly critical to begin with. Tremon Smith is a future starter. |
Arrion Springs is apparently really sharp on the field-- recognizes routes, points things out to other guys, takes good angles in coverage, etc.
Just... he's not that special of an athlete. I wonder how he would do with a position switch to safety :hmmm: |
Not really Chiefs related, but this is pretty great. Trubisky signs a jersey and has no clue it's Chase Daniel asking for the autograph.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Mitch Trubisky not recognizing that he’s signing an autograph for his own backup quarterback is my favorite preseason highlight <a href="https://t.co/urm5KDfXKr">pic.twitter.com/urm5KDfXKr</a></p>— Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) <a href="https://twitter.com/PeteBlackburn/status/1027278929294512128?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 8, 2018</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Also, I still have high hopes for Tremon Smith, but he's reeeally gotta work on getting his head turned around.
Almost every pass breakup shown at training camp is him running straight at his man. Even if he times it perfectly, only half of those breakups are going to be called clean by refs, because the first instinct is to throw a flag at any CB who plays the receiver instead of the ball. He's got the speed and fluidity to make it happen. Will just take time, that's all. |

Except Gaines just flat out sucks AND he was constantly injured. I'd compare him to Terrance Mitchell more than I would Gaines at this point |
