I'm sorry to hear that, luv.

It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. It helped being able to hold her. Now I just have to go upstairs and get her stuff out of my room. I'm having her cremated. RIP Fat Cat.

And thanks all.

I held Mille when they put her down, and I was a blubbering little girl.

I'm really really sorry to hear this. I lost my good pal Mr. Kitty to the same thing. I know how it feels. Hang in there. I hope once the pain passes, you'll think about giving another kitty a good home. There's so many out there that need a human friend.

Sorry about your Kitty, Luv.

I'm bummed. I don't think I realized just how much that cat helped me get through. She was also my cuddle buddy. She's also the first pet that I've personally had to make the decision to put down. Tough Monday.

Mourn for a couple of weeks, and then get yourself a new kitten. New Kitten won't be Fat Cat, but New Kitten will make you feel better.

gblowfish 05-07-2012 09:49 PM

This was my pal Mr. Kitty that I lost to liver disease. When we first got him, the vet told me he probably had six months to a year. We had him for just over six years. I still miss him a lot. He's buried under his favorite tulip tree in the back yard. He was a great cat.

I love her coloration. It's almost like a swirl of color. Always thought she was a beautiful cat.

luv 05-09-2012 06:29 PM

The only thing with Boose is that she's so timid. She jumps at nearly every sound. She's just so sweet though. Fat Cat was sweet, but she was more "cool" and people friendly.

we love boxers. The people we are getting Daisy from want to use our Male boxer Angus (in avatar) to mate with their female to see if they can get some flashy brindles. We may also let Daisy and Angus have a litter or two. Our boy will be with his "wife" and "mother-in-law" hehe

Question for cat owners...

I'm probably a little sensitive since finding out that drinking a lot of water and peeing a lot is a sign of possible kidney problems in cats. Boose, (pictured earlier) has just started drinking more water. Dad did point out, though, that we just recently changed her diet from wet food to dry food. Makes sense that that would have something to do with it. Agree?

9 is a good age to start watching him for signs of kidney problems. In human years he is 56. Puya is younger than that but he did have urinary track infection that threatened his kidney a few years ago. So we've been feeding him the Pro Plan 'Urinary track' dry food as his regular sustenance. Every evening at 6+/- he gets his moist food. If we forget, he comes and reminds us around 6 pm, as if he has a wrist watch!

None currently. My ferret died about a year ago. Had a couple of cats before in my current apartment.

Rain Man 05-14-2012 09:51 AM

My cat O.J. had his final followup appointment for his bad jaw infection this morning, and checked out A-OK. Poor guy had a multi-month ordeal getting the infection removed, six teeth removed, and then taking care of another infection that set in. But he's doing well and has even gained significant weight in the last month (which is a good thing in his case).

Yep, our pug is pretty cool. Kind of needy though. By that, I mean, it is a small dog that seemingly NEEDS 90% of the bed.

Steelers blanket, not cool. The Southwestern design couch/couch pillows though? Straight up ballin', yo! Well not really... they are a reflection as to how I will be living in the 90's forever due to my excellent choice of enrolling at a private college and majoring in Psychology. In other words, I am in year 5 of my student loan prison term which causes me to resort to such furniture. I got that couch and it's matching loveseat for free! And on an even brighter note, it's the most comfortable couch in the whole freaking world!

Yeah.....I'm dissappointed in myself as well. But to my defense it was the blanket that was closest to me at the time and I didn't feel like moving very far. My fiancee is a die-hard Steeler fan. And what I am using as a pillow, isn't even a pillow... It's my 1 year old daughter's mini Care Bears fluffy chair. That thing is awesome for keeping the sun out of my eyes when there is sun coming through our window blinds right on to my face.
