Keep in mind that Sutton wouldn’t blitz, wouldn’t be creative, left the middle of the field open, wouldn’t jam Edelman, wouldn’t double Edelman at all times and was easily figured out by anybody who watched the All 22. This isn’t a home run hire, but goddamn does it seem like it after what we saw from Sutton’s dumbass last weekend. |

"Thank God we got rid of Greg Robinson. Anybody is better than him and his sourpuss face on the sidelines. Gunther is gonna come in here and breath fire, send blitzes and round this entire team into shape. We need someone with some attitude!!!!" IT'S THE SAME. ****ING. THING. I mean to the damn letter. And again - nobody will ever in a million years argue that firing Robinson was the wrong move - of course it wasn't. But hiring that recycled half-wit Gunther to be the DC because he was 'fiery' and flamboyant and mostly just familiar was the problem. This is one of those 'winning the war and losing the peace' scenarios where everyone just assumes that achieving the first, most pressing and primary objective is good enough for a happily ever after. But it isn't - the second part is damn critical as well. And all we've done with Spagnuolo is Gunther 2.0. |
Meh. We'll see.

Yup this is Gunther II

I get it, but not enough can be said about the situations Spags was in since his first stint with the Giants.
Just look at the difference between Ken Norton’s Oakland defenses and the Seahawks this year. |

He's not Bob, therefore, he's an upgrade.

It's pretty much who I thought it would be.
As much as I wanted him to....Andy wasn't turning over the defense to a young guy with no experience as a DC. Am I excited? Meh...not really. Is it better than Sutton? Yes. Maybe now we'll shit can this stupid 3-4 and be aggressive. |

WRONG. Spagnuolo is from the Andy Reid tree, after previously working under Reid and Jim Johnson in Philadelphia, where Spagnuolo learned the aggressive blitz-heavy 4-3 scheme that helped the Giants to take down Tom Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. |
If this is what happens, the 34 is pretty much gone.
Spagnuolo is a 43 under guy IIRC> |

If you would be so kind ... I need specifics. Where can I find defensive rankings under Spagnuliolo? Why is he sizzleish and not steaklike? What other DC candidates would be both an improvement and innovative? C'mon dude, spill. FAX |
